You are correct - the car has been repainted.
The photo is not reversed - both show the steering wheel in the same place.
That’s the car I saw two years ago at the North Carolina Museum of Art.
Reminds me of my old Kawasaki 350 triple. I started sanding the tank, and it must have been repainted a dozen times, the different colors looked like the rings on a tree stump. It was originally orange. It finally ended up 1968-69 Ford’s Candy Apple Red...along with several others and 2 cars, over time.
Yeah, but are the tires new?
Someone will be trying to sell it to the Pawn stars next season.
"Do you mind if I call a friend? I'm taking alll the risk here. With the economy the way it is. I gotta make a profit after all."
To try and be one of the “common people”, she sure lived high on the hog.
I saw her perform at the Electric Factory. She was a mess, drunk, pathetic.
I have been told that I saw her once in Texas ...I cannot independently verify this
Can one imagine Janice Joplin as a grandma? a bit less drugs and alcohol and it coulda happened
I was going to say the exact same thing. Good thing I checked. But I think the word is “amends”
I think I was having a 60's flashback :-)
For about 3 years.
Early in 1970 I was riding in my roommate’s new car which had something called an “8-track”. He pushed in a plastic thing & then this awful screeching came out of the stereo speakers.
“Who’s that!?” I asked. “Janis Joplin”, he replied, “blue eyed soul sister!”
Less than a year later I was in Vietnam & she was already dead, along with Jimi Hendrix, both age 26.
I am pretty sure that is a mirror image of the original photo.
Look at headlight to the left of the photo. That paint job matches the one in the auctioned car.
Besides, Janis Joplin was left handed and the photo as shown has her smoking the stogie (or whatever) with her right hand, so it very probably is a mirror image photo.
Not on acid.
She was a real skank. I know some old guys in Texas that used to party with her. Everyone had their turn, many didn’t want one.
Or at least they told you they did ...
True stupidity.
Within 60 years it will have less value than the standard model.
