Ahh...kittehs to start the morning!

In other news, the story of the clothing for my neighbor who didn’t want his “name out ‘there’” is stranger and stranger. The company took the money out and charged for S&H, which they promise in their advertising not to do if your order is over $50. Since this order was $254+, I figured they wouldn’t charge the S&H but they did.

After the initial email confirming the order contents and amounts, I heard nothing. So I called yesterday and was told the order had gone out on the 16th.

Imagine my surprise when I checked my account this morning and found they had refunded the entire amount EXCEPT the S&H! I don’t think I like that company! Now I’ll have to wait it out to see if they will change their minds about it. I would hate to write a check to the guy only to have them try to take the money back.

It’s finally getting light outside, but I’ve been awake since around 0300. I finally gave up on trying to sleep around 0330, and here I am. Tired. And the entire day ahead of me.

Along the lines of the ‘big room’ being a place of horror..

I was accessing my wagondevice (the one with the pull handle as opposed to the one that tows behind the little Red Riding Thing) which was under assorted tarps in the wasabarn. One of the assorted tarps was a remnant of the ex-cover for my shed-in-a-box which was replaced by a new cover back in maybe December. Thus the wagon with the pull handle has not been uncovered at least since that date. But it gives a starting point for a timeline.

As I peeled back the tarp layers I made a sort-of-morbid discovery - a cat corpse. I immediately thought of The Copy who had gone missing, but the timeline was wrong as she had disappeared months before we changed the shed-in-a-box skin and the deceased was between the normal tarp over the wagon and the shed-in-a-box skin. Plus the remains were just too big to have been her. More tomcat sized. With a winter furcoat.

General consensus is that it was Stripy Tom, a sort of gray brown black striped tabby who used to show up and pilfer from the foodplate and crunchie bowl we set out for Thomas Tom, the offspring of the late killed-by-dogs Sootie. We haven’t seen Stripy Tom since sometime (we collectively agreed) in January.

The condition of the corpse prevented forensic examination and left to speculation the cause of his demise. The two highest probability factors are hit by car on the road and he made it that far for shelter, or attacked by the Coy O’Tays and managed to escape but with serious injuries. Being a feral he would not have come to a human for help but would have taken advantage of the various hidey places we offer.

I utilized a shovel device to remove the remains..
