I avoided Internet Explorer for like ever. Used Netscape and then Firefox, so I have no commentary on using it. Other than the for the pages written in MS Frontage which wouldn’t display in anything but IE. And I thought it sucked.. If Edge seems the same to you, you might be more comfortable using it. I have no idea if the learning curve would be difficult.

By all reports it is way more secure than Internet Explorer so it might be better choice for you if there are enough similarities to keep your confuzer unconfuzed.. ;-)

Since MS will be killing off IE, it would be best if you picked your alternate and ‘suffered’ with whatever relesrning is necessary now while there is time rather than waiting till MS pulls the plug on IE and forces you into a crash course.

I’ve been backing up browser favorites to WordPad text files since the early days of Ms IE, when it crashed every other day. Easy to access for any browser, backup, and send related bulk links via email. Haven’t seen any reason to stop my SOP yet.

Heck, back then it was quicker to have a categorized text file open for cut and paste then the slow scanning browser favorites file. Still allows browser to open a bit faster without the overhead of a hundred and more links. Some small measure of security as well keeping important links off browser, clearing history along the way

I used Netscape, as well, and I liked it. But it died. As for IE, it is being phased out, but the replacement is Explorer Edge, which seems to be much more reliable. However, I want to really get away from MS, even though I have a niece who has worked there for 30 years.

Her loyalty isn’t my loyalty. I just want a dependable OS and accompanying search engine. And I loathe Goober.
