So, the Big Speech is over. Obama spoke from the Oval Office about the domestic Islamic terrorism that occurred in San Bernadino a few days ago.
Many gun owners, myself included, dreaded this speech as the possible introduction point for unconstitutional Executive Orders on firearms. The Executive Order (excuse me, 'Executive Action') floated most heavily was to bring private firearms sales under the Brady Act. The announcement did not materialize.
One of two gun control urgings that did appear, however, is something I deem the "No-Fly-No-Buy List". In this effort, the present "No-Fly List" would be used to also deny the purchase of firearms to those people who are on that list.
Let us discuss the "No-Fly List". While, at first glance, it appears to be a useful tool to prevent terrorists from flying, it has a few characteristics that make it very Soviet-like:
This is an Un-Citizen-List. Placement on this list makes you an Un-Person, at least in regards to your ability to travel freely. That is not acceptable in a society like ours.
Now, along comes OTrauma, who pitches the idea -- not to REFORM this legal tool -- but to EXPAND it to include firearms purchases.
There is no due process. The present list must be reformed, not, instead, have its function expanded!
It is important that we do not let the "No-Fly List" become the "No-Fly-No-Buy List."
Heck no! The no fly list has no court trial and anyone can be put on it on a whim. Dems are disgusting.
What’s ironic is his implied excoriation of Trump for wanting to create a list, while there exists already a suoer double secret list for no-fly....
I feel that, using some Political Judo, we can change the narrative from ‘Lets put gun owners on this list’, to
‘Hey, this list sucks, lets reform it, even if its only just for permission to fly.”
Did anyone realistically expect our Muslim in Chief, after 7 years, to come up with any ideas even bordering on reality?
I look at it like this.
If the federal government insists upon importing muslim terrorists into this country, then muslim terrorists are going to have 2nd Amendment rights just like everyone else in this country has.
If the federal government doesn’t want muslim terrorists to be able to buy guys in America, THEN QUIT IMPORTING MUSLIM TERRORISTS INTO AMERICA!
Because we damn sure are not going to give up our civil right to bear arms, and we are not going to give you, the federal government the authority to decide who gets to have guns and who doesn’t, because you are UNTRUSTWORTHY, DEVIOUS, DISHONEST AND EVIL.

The PC brainwashing in this country has so thoroughly addled the thinking of Americans that most US citizens accept as truth the following points:
1. It is America’s responsibility to impose justice, freedom, and prosperity throughout the world.
2. All people of world have the same rights in the US Constitution as US citizens.
We have no obligation to help other countries, especially when we no longer have the resources to do so and especially when those countries resent the ideals of Western Civilization and see our attempts to help them as a form of colonialism.
Only US citizens have the rights and protections enumerated in (safeguarded but not granted by) the US Constitution.
I believe in natural rights. But other countries must first set up their system of governance in accordance with natural rights. From that, they can construct a constitution that gives them the same rights that we have.
But they do not have our rights (such as living here, welfare, etc.) and we are not obligated to set other countries in order.

I don't know how you did it. I haven't watched him even once since he was elected in 2008, not a moment. I refuse. I do the “na-na-na-na” thing with my fingers in my ears or trip over the damn obstacles on the way to the radio to shut if off. I can't stand the sight or sound of him. He's not my President, and he NEVER will be. I'm electing to scrub 8 years of my life away rather than admit him into it. In short, I don't know how you did it.
Pretty much. I'm just delighted that ammo prices are unlikely to shoot up again. :)
The fact that the President proposed it means either:
a. He doesn't know better...and is constitutionally ignorant.
b. Or he does know better...and is constitutionally cynical.
I wonder if anyone in the LSM will ever mention these critical facts about the no-fly list. Most of the public think the no-fly, no buy list is peachy-keen.
I managed to watch it. It wasn’t the big train wreck I was expecting to see. The first 5 minutes, the words he spoke could have come out of G.W. Bush’s mouth. He got some very good coaching on how to lie well!
It’s not gonna happen. His urging was lame, at best, and anyone in-the-know will be calling reps and keeping it from going forward.
It is up to us. Inform everyone. Post it on Facebook. Tell your friends. Send blast emails.
