Been gone a long time. Back in the day I would sometimes post here about songs from the sixties that seemed to be coming full circle, and here's another one. If someone has already posted a similar version, which might be expected, I humbly apologize. Apologies as well to Neil Young if he takes offense. And if anyone wants to write a better version, please feel free. Stay safe everyone.
SAN BERDO
ISIS and Obama coming Weâre finally on our own This winter I hear the drumming Fourteen dead in San Berdo
Gotta get down to it Muslims are gunning us down Prophet demands it, don't you know What it you knew them And saw them dead on the ground How will you vote when you know
ISIS and Obama coming Weâre finally on our own This winter I hear the drumming Fourteen dead in San Berdo Fourteen dead in San Berdo Fourteen dead in San Berdo ((Why?!) Fourteen dead in San Berdo (Why?!) Fourteen dead in San Berdo (Why?!) Fourteen dead in San Berdo (Why?!) [Fade out]
Obviously I don’t recall the whole formatting thing - if anyone can do that I’d appreciate it. :)

It’s Berdoo.
San Berdoo.
Almost as good as the “72 Deat Outside Waco” version from some years back.
Thanks.
That makes me nostalgic.
LOL! Well, maybe so.
But I recall people calling it Berdo when I lived in San Diego way back when. Of course, relying on what I recall from those days is fraught with danger.
“Ahab the Arab” is a novelty song written and recorded by Ray Stevens in 1962. In the song, Arab is pronounced “Ay-rab” to rhyme with Ahab.
I moved to San Diego in December, 1965, and left Kali-Fornia the final time and for good in 2004.
San Bernardino was always referred to as “San Berdo” during those years.
I never heard it called “Berdo.”
I lived in Southern Cal for the first half of the 80s. I lived in Loma Linda, near Anderson and Redlands Boulevarde. I worked graveyard shift in the Circle K across from the Tri-City Drive In. I also lived in the Golden Eagle Motel in downtown San Berdoo, across from the Stater Brothers and next to Sir George’s Smorgasbord. I was very familiar with Waterman Avenue, where the shootings occurred. I went to concerts st the Swing Auditorium and Orange Show Pavillion. San Bernardino we a rough place then. I can only imagine what it is like now.
It’s still a good parody song!
No, it was never called “Berdo,” but if you’ll follow the conversation of this thread you will see that someone tried to correct me, saying it was San “Berdoo”, not San “Berdo,” and I was replying that I remembered it as “Berdo,” not “Berdoo.” Sheesh.
Now I recall why it’s been so long.
