Stone pines should produce both cones and pollen, but I can’t find whether or not they’ll self-pollinate. Some plants won’t produce if the pollinator is genetically too similar, it may need another tree.
Thanks, I had not considered that- I am in an area that is sparse in pines, anthough there are a few Jap Black pines, I think a few Afghan pines, and maybe an Austrian (pinus nigra). I know of no other Italian Stone pines.
