Between hunting and football....Thanksgiving was ruined years ago.

Hubby would show up late after hunting and my father in law would get furious.

Then after pigging down, all the men would fall asleep....and snore their heads off while the women cleaned up their mess.

At least we have our own money to go shopping these days.

Come on, admit it, you loved the new vacuum cleaner he got you for Christmas last year........

And if you promise not to complain this Thanksgiving, you just might get a new electric buffer/polisher for the car.......LOL!

Interesting observations. I'm a man and I agree about the football on Thanksgiving. It takes away from the family experience as we men turn into a bunch of zombies. Now they have games from 1PM to almost midnight. As much as I love football, I do not have the TV on at all in the house today. We play some music over the stereo and play board games or cards together. In fact in a few minutes, we are heading out for our traditional Thanksgiving Day after-dinner walk. We go about 3 miles in a loop around our neighborhood with the dogs and all as the sun sets.

Kitchen is already mostly cleaned up with some wines and pies to come back to after the walk.
