Holy carp, was she ever annoying. Three shows worth, too.

She is married, supposedly to a man. I was kind of surprised by that. I never thought that kind of annoying crap would fly for an attorney in Georgia.
I don’t know about Maine, but certainly a New England college like Babson, Smith, or a little west out in Ithaca or something. That’s college garbage, not adult attorney kind of speech.
Not sure dude has much room to talk about accents. lol
Yeah, really! He probably doesn’t think he has one.
I just found that vid this morning. You are familiar with him?
There is a crime author, Harold Schecter, that I first became familiar with on his frequent appearances of Discovery ID’s Deadly Women. Anyway, he frequently raises his voice, just slightly, at the end of a lot of his sentences. Unlike the Jeopardy woman, having just become familiar with her from your thread and a previous thread on FR from earlier, I find his voice enjoyable to listen to.
This is a talk by him...if you scroll in and listen carefully for a bit, you can hear his unusual vocal pattern:

He does a bunch of current affairs videos. Snowstorms, politics, atc. with ‘average guy kind of social commentary. Many of my facebook friends are followers, he’s pretty funny. Not G rated.
What’s his name? I didn’t notice it when I watched.
“elite” types like to engage in upspeak like that.
Made me cringer when she would say, so and so for 4 hundredddddddddddddddddddddd.

She’s a lawyer. Can you imagine sitting through a three day trial with her?
I have NEVER wished for a contestant to lose like I did for her....
Her chats with Alex were okay, but that upseak thing... EVERY time?
That is Andrew Dice Clay giving the commentary.
(I think)
Was watching Jeopardy last night (she lost, thankfully) with my wife. Made the comment that if you were married to the contestant, you would either find the lilt adorable, or you would go Jeffrey Dahmer on her.
For me, it actually pained me when she spoke, but I couldn't stop watching, kind of like poking a sore tooth. Maybe I find her subconsciously hot? Yikes!
I hear ya. I kind of found myself doing the upspeak thing along with her. Thankfully nobody was home alone, but my daughter’s cat did give me a menacing look each time I did.
agree
She drove me crazy, too. I speculated that she has some inferiority which she assuages by elongating her speech to keep the floor, but my wife the retired special education teacher has heard this before and suggests she may be somewhere on the “autism spectrum.” Generally she did this when announcing how many dollars she’d bet, which anticipates an upcoming event (the clue) and makes me think the unfinished action is related; but sometimes she omitted it, which I take to be her conscious effort to avoid it. Glad she finally lost.
