In reality, there is NO SUCH THING as a “New Jersey accent.” People in North Jersey have a NY-area accent, whereas those in South Jersey sound like Philadelphians. All but one of the meatheads on that Jersey Shore show were from New York.

Born in Philly...migrated to South Jersey for a while. New England, Haiti and then The South...

Attempting to Southernize myself with "fixin'ta", "y'all", "darlin'" and dropping any form of the verb "to be" (As in, "The car needs fixed." WUT?!).

After 29 very happy years in the South, still no success wid dat.
