What? Sex isn’t as important to women as men??????? There’s something shocking! Shocking I tell you...
The old are too sick, the middle aged are too tired and the young are too distracted with social media, so good luck thinking those corny ED ads are going to sell expensive sex drugs of marginal benefit.
What they REALLY needed to sell is a pill that will give a woman a headache (or other excuse not to have sex) on demand.
Unlike Viagra, this drug has to be taken daily, else it has no effect.
'cause women should be in the kitchen making sammiches during commercials
They should have made it out of cubic zirconium. ;)
It would have looked more than creepy. no wonder it never went anywhere...
The sex-drive drug, known as flibanserin, improved the sex drive in only about 10 percent more patients that those who took a placebo, Bloomberg noted. And Addyi â which works on brain chemistry rather than blood flow to the genitals â can cause low blood pressure, nausea, dizziness and fainting.
Whatâs worse? Women who take Addyi are supposed to refrain from drinking alcohol.
The Food and Drug Administration rejected the controversial drug twice before finally approving it on Aug. 18 under intense lobbying from those who accused the agency of ignoring the sexual needs of women.
Male Viagra is a one-off pill that can be taken when the mood strikes. But Addyi works more like an antidepressant that must be taken every day, so the monthly cost can run a whopping $780.
Bottle of MadDog is still about three bucks right?
>>Where are the Valeant ads during sporting events? <<
Or ruining forever Elvis songs.
The female equivalent to erectile dysfunction would be vaginismus and a litany of scar tissue and torn muscle physiological causes which make penetration painful or even damaging. This drug doesn't fix that at all, so the parallel was never really there.
Simply put, it is dishonest to infer Addyi is an equivalent to Viagra.
The drug deserves to fail in the marketplace because it doesn't fix all real problem for people who desire sex but are unable to participate as they would like. It just tries to cause desire, and who has time to waste on that if they are content in other activities.
Hmmm so something that it gives men a “woody”.... gives women a “won’ty”.....what else is new...
The real problem is that you can’t get a doctor to write a prescription for somebody else.
I think my ex-wife must have been taking a “not tonight” pill on a daily basis.
Valeant needs a drug that makes men smell like a million bucks.
How staggeringly clueless do you have to be to pay a billion for a product like this that will never have a market?
A vastly greater sales potential would be a pill for men that would turn off the sex drive so that they just would not care about sexual activity at all.
This could possibly help women on Citalopram, which is known to permanently suppress the sex drive in women.
