“No way would I advocate living abroad to a daughter.”

My documentary director son has lived in London for over twenty-five years. At this time he is in the US making a documentary but he will have to return to London when this US part of the film is finished. He has been traveling all over Europe to make this film.

I cannot stop his travel across the world. He has lived in England for so long, he sounds British. Years back when planes were being hijacked regularly (back then the doors to the cockpit were easy to open) and Americans were targeted, he would hide his American Passport while on a plane and hoped his British accent would save him from being identified as American if the plane was hijacked.

Naturally, I worry now about his travels but I have worried for these twenty five years about his safety. He is lucky to be alive after some of the situations he has been in.

Well since his daughter just turned 21, she is young enough for him to have parental influence over her, especially if he is paying. I couldn’t deal with the worry!
