More fine examples of concerned Public Servants wise administration of duty.
Please...the shortened lights “caused” the collisions?
Governments are about taking your money.
Not providing “services”.
Read the headlines and couldn’t figure out what area of San Mateo was the red light district. Around here they are called stop lights not red lights to avoid the confusion. Sort of a soda or pop thing
Our company has HQ there in San Mateo. I read a local paper there last year they were complaining about the roads and that the state didn’t pony up the promised funds allocated for repairs. Revenue generated theft of citizens by traffic cameras. We survived quite well without traffic light cameras for many decades until the rip offs by government
trying to trick drivers into trap$.
The overwhelming majority of these citations are issued to those going through the end of the cycle, where vehicles in other directions are already stopped, waiting for the green.
This kind of light running is an annoyance, not a safety issue.
Show me one pic of such a red light runner getting into an accident.
Millions of photos - none of accidents.
That a 100% safety rate.
So what exactly is so dangerous about running lights in this way again?
$540 fine. That’s a lot of freaking money to some people - including me.
It’s all about safety. Not.
Bilking citizens is endemic in California at every level of government.
I prepare tax returns for a client that lives and operates a pretty large business in the bay area. They constantly get notices they're being audited by every county where they have stores, for personal property taxes and no matter what the truth is they always generate more tax by counting some items twice, or by saying an item should be reclassified into another category that has a higher tax rate. The auditors ignore everything I say, because the outcome has been predetermined. The audits are literally a shakedown and completely immoral.
Any entity that can tax or charge a fee is giving everyone in California an anal exam just to increase their revenue. How else are the dimocrats going to pay for their illegal voters?
They are not constitutional anyway....
The people there should do what Tucson voters did last week. They got rid of the red light cameras, period.
Clemente, with the help of NBC's Investigative team and Los Angeles resident Jay Beeber, who advocated for the new law, claim a video of the Burlingame man's ticket shows the yellow lights were set to just 3.066 seconds, below the former 3.2-second minimum.
I was stuned when I read this.
(Do any Freepers still remember being stuned because of a beeber-like device?)
