I can answer after watching a couple of hours of his videos. It can be a supper to supper fast, or a day fast/day eat, or fast 2 days a week. Tailor to what you need. Learning how to post those links for you. I started this week and am down 4 pounds already, fasting Monday and Wednesday and today.

Before I respond to your questions I need to alert everyone to the reason why the posting of these nutritional health videos was suspended about midnight of 7-8 November. As matters stand right now, I don’t know whether or not this post will ever appear in the thread or be removed shortly afterwards. The problem began when I was posting a daily group of three posts relating to rock, classical, and country music. All three posts appeared normally just before midnight. Somehow the post for the rock music ended up with the URL in the title field where it did not belong. A short while later the moderator deleted that music post with the faulty title. Assuming the post was deleted by the moderator because of the faulty title, I fixed the problem and reposted the same rock music link to YouTube with the correct title. The repost appeared normally in the forum. A short while later the moderator deleted the rock music post again, and no communications were received to explain why the post was taken down. Abandoning the attempts to post the rock music link, I began to post the next six of the Nutritional Health Series YouTube videos and was stopped dead in my tracks. Four attempts to open a post resulted in FreeRepublic performing a log off, effectively knocking me out of FreeRepublic. I was able to read FreeRepublic and to log in to FreeRepublic, but opening a post caused a log off on each of four occasions. Consequently, I do not know whether or not this comment will appear or be deleted after appearing, and I do not know why. If you do see this post, but you do not later see the next series of videos 11-16 about Dr. Fung Parts 1-6, then you may assume those posts have been blocked for unknown reasons.

“whiskey...can you sum up what Fung says about fasting? does he recommend fasting for a whole day? or part of a day? a particular meal time?”

Having watched dozens of these videos without taking detailed notes of their content, it is difficult exactly which videos contain the fasting details. It should be noted that regardless of what these videos have to say about fasting their suggestions cannot be applied to everyone, and especially so with regard to people with diabetes and other serious medical disorders. Fasting can result in dehydration, and drinking large amounts of water and other beverages can result in the loss of critical amounts of minerals and electrolytes. The loss of too many of the electrolytes can cause a lethal heart attack.

“thanks. I watched the 12 minute video but there were no details. it’s hard for me to take tons of time to watch videos so your help will be much appreciated.”

The motivation to summarize and focus on what is believed to be the essentials for treating obesity and diabetes is very understandable; yet on the other hand it needs to be understood that doing so can result in misunderstandings, false assumptions, risky behavior, harmful health effects, and even lethal consequences. Overlooking the cautions regarding the use of fasting for one example can result in the loss of minerals and electrolytes which can cause a lethal heart attack, gallstones, kidney stones, and a wide assortment of other serious health conditions. Since every person’s health situation can be different, there can be no one diet or fasting plan that can be safe for everyone or even most people. For these and many other reasons it is a vital requirement to be as full informed as humanly possible before selecting a particular medical and nutritional course of action. Whatever time or effort is necessary to not only see the videos in full but also to study many of them multiple times is never going to be time wasted. Taking their information out of context and without taking into account their conflicts and contradictions can have serious consequences to a person’s health.

Be sure to note the limits upon using fasting methods. many diabetics simply do not have the health required to do more than limited fasting until their overall health improves, so they must refrain from fasting more than their current health can tolerate the stress. Consult the physicians and the test results for your own blood to develop a realistic nutritional plan which can implement fasting safely. Note how Dr. Jason Fung has done so for the diabetic patients in his clinic and research program.

If this Nutritional Health Series of YouTube videos are still wanted, I’ll try to resume posting them, beginning with the six par series by Dr. Jason Fung as intended last Sunday when the postings were being blocked. If you do not see them, then you’ll know something prevented them from being posted.
