A boyfriend once saw a fashion magazine in my house that contained a feature that included a pic of a beautiful naked woman.

He wanted to know why pics of naked women were in fashion magazines.

I don’t think I ever managed to convince him that in that case, women are ‘identifying’ with beauty; not lusting after the model.

Men and women are different...duh.

The other night I told hubby that a woman on tv was pretty despite her gray scraggly hair and hardly a tooth in her head. He, of course, thought I’d lost my mind. He couldn’t understand that there was beauty in the shape of her nose and cheeks, and the way she carried herself and that there was warmness in her eyes. That has nothing to do with any sort of sexual arousal. He and the authors of the study fail to differentiate beauty from sex.
