The Russians are famous for not taking any terrorist actions against their people without serious retaliation. I remember back some years ago a Russian diplomat/KGB agent was kidnapped and killed in the Middle East (Lebanon I think). The response was quick and fierce. One of the terrorists that was involved or claimed responsibility disappeared—until his body was delivered to the organizations doorstep in pieces. Yes, pieces.

That was back in the early 80’s, around Beirut I think. IIRC, the Soviets also delivered a couple of cassettes recording the sounds of the guy’s last hours too.
