Shaun King: Iâve been called the N-word since I was 14, but now those same people want me to be white
EDITOR'S NOTE: Our policy at the Daily News is to censor most racial pejoratives. We have made an exception in the following column because of the personal and historic context of the subject matter:
For the last 22 years of my life, I've been called a n****r. And now they want me to be white.
In 1993, I was a freshman at Woodford County High School in rural Versailles, Ky. On a dozen different occasions, white students brazenly used the slur to my face, put it on notes in my locker, and yelled it from passing vehicles. Occasionally some of my friends and I would build up enough courage to report it. The racist students would deny it. Nothing would happen. Eventually, we just stopped reporting it altogether.

I hate the smell of bull$hit in the morning
This is his mom.......
Police report on him........
I’ll bet he’s been called dumbass since he was seven.
I'm an Irish American with brown eyes and black hair, never in my LIFE has anyone ever called me the "N" word. Yet this guy claims HE was called that, and regularly? His skin is whiter than Johnny Winter!! Holy God this idiot ticks me off so much! And the fact that the Daily News is giving him a forum even more so! This is absolutely outrageous, this is a deliberate attempt by a major newspaper to harm the community using fraud.
Why aren’t black people complaining about this? because it’s their go to excuse for everything wrong in thier lives. You wouldnt think they would be self evaluating, take responsibility for thier own lives.
Quisling.
Seems like the Rachel Dolezal effect is a mental disease to the extreme impacting idiots with low self-esteem.
In certain cases (this being one of them), it’s probably worse than being a transgender.
Maybe the people yelling “N*****” were ironic hipsters.
Student newspapers are sold on newsstands now?
Perhaps black people do complain about this, but the media typically do not cover such complaints.
King is certainly openly racist against blacks and unashamedly so; he has no compunctions about using them to further the left-wing agenda.
“Wigger” is more likely what they were calling him.
Someone go check the skin color of their mailman
Big deal, growing up I was called a stupid Pollock. I never had anybody provide me with an “equal opportunity” card to advance above others in line for a job or getting into the college of my choice...
I never got a chance to check a box asking me about my ethnicity; other than “white”.
I was born here in the USA, and I can’t even check the box labelled: “Native American”.
Just what country am I a native of then?
Jus more chit about ziggin or zaggin.
I’m sorry, but the “pencil thin mustache” look went out of fashion during the Truman administration. It makes him look like a complete douche.

What I find interesting is how Rachel Dolezal was exposed and basically run out of town for doing the same exact thing, posing as black. But what seems to be happening here is liberals are backing this guy up because he constantly flames race relations. He needs to be EXPOSED on a larger scale, this is outrageous. Just about every day he has another article in the daily news flaming race relations.
I can remember as a child hearing my father and others saying, “ You do not have to be colored to be a N——r.”
I also remember Senator Robert Byrd (KKK-WV) saying he had know a lot of white N——rs.
I wonder if my father and Robert Byrd knew Shaun King.
No one “wants him to be white” - we want him TO STOP LYING so he can scam the system.
He did this for the same reason people rob banks. Because that’s where the money is.
For the number of hoaxes of this type coming to light, there must be more money in it than I thought.
