Friends of mine had their first child 2 and a half weeks ago, a little girl, Sawyer Jane. In the first week she began to have difficulty eating and sleeping. They took her to the Doctor and could find nothing wrong. They took her into the hospital and all they know is that she has some sort of infection. All the tests keep coming back negative so they have not been able to pin it down. This morning I received this message from her mother: Sawyer update: We are being transferred to UVA nicu. Sawyer's white blood cell count almost doubled from before and she is now in a critical range. We are asking for your thoughts and prayers as we embark on the next part of this journey. Sawyer is a fighter and know that Brent and I are fighting with her.
Thank you for sharing this wonderful news.
A benign tumor can cause problems, too, but I’m so glad to hear that it is benign.
Best news of the day! Thank you LORD! You are worthy to be praised!
Good new! Praise the Lord.
Thank you Jesus!
More prayers up.
Great news! Continuing to pray!
BTTT
Praise the Lord!
Thank You, Jesus !
They are going to continue to monitor on an outpatient basis for the next while. she has visits for more MRI/ CT scans to keep an eye on the tumor.
11/20 - At our pediatrician appointment this morning, Sawyer's blood levels had dropped again. We went back to UVA immediately so she could get another blood transfusion. We're going back Wednesday to meet with Immunology and probably get another transfusion. We are getting all of Sawyer's records and hopefully getting a second opinion at Hopkins. Please keep little Sawyer in your thoughts and prayers as we continue on this journey.
Baby Sawyer is still in need of prayer:

Healing Prayers for Sawyer and family.
Prayers for Sawyer.
Praying the docs figure out how to help Baby Sawyer.
1 - Sawyer has gained weight since last week!
2 - There was not any blood in her stool today! We contribute both of these, although we have no proof, to the fact that we suspected a milk allergy. We changed to formula a couple of weeks ago and are happy with these results.
3 - Sawyer had blood drawn multiple times today, but had great results! Her white blood cell counts were down and her red blood cell count and hemoglobin numbers stayed up for an entire week. AGAIN, she didn't need a blood transfusion for the second week in a row! !
At this point, we are going to Augusta for our blood draw next week and UVA the week after. We are definitely on a high right now, but trying to remain level headed.
Thank you again for all of your thoughts and prayers. The prayers are working and âª#âsawyerstrong⬠is in full effect!
Great news!
Thank you for the update.
