I upgraded to Windows 10 on Monday morning. It went surprisingly well. I had a few issues but they seemed to require minor tweaking or downloading new versions of existing apps. Now I am down to some of the more intractable issues.
The current issue deals with different web pages replacing some characters with others. I got rid of most of the question marks in a diamond but not all of them. The following passage is from a FR thread and is meant for illustration only. I have turned the offending characters red.
You might think that itââ¬â¢s (should be the word 'italics') the fact that a majority of Muslims in ââ¬Ë67 Israel spit on the Two-State Solution and that PLO boss Abbas rejected the Oslo Accords in a speech at the United Nations.
SweetiePalm says you are years too late to find any of my problems. ;-)

I have found a work around for the problem. This is not a fix but it will do until one comes along.
It seems not all characters that work in Windows can be properly interpreted by HTML5. I replaced the appropriate letter, say é with the appropriate text string that HTML5 can interpret. In this case, é_; (remove the underscore).
As you can see from my signature block below, it works until a solution comes along.
I found the solution here.
HTML5 âA numeric character reference expanded to the C1 controls rangeâ error when using _;(remove underscore)

Thanks for the explanation. I knew it was a accented character issue, but not the cause.
