They live in San Jose. Her husband grew up in Fresno.
Thank you!
I’m sure it will be great to have her less than hundreds of miles from home.
My kid is about an hour away-65 miles-we have lived about that distance from each other since she married. Back when she first moved out on her own, she lived less than 10 minutes away-and that was too close...
I do believe that JimRob lives in Fresno, too. Hmm.
I am sure they are touting him, his campaign should be staffed with supporters. He just didn’t move up in the rankings, so it means nothing. The only ones I see continuing are Trump and Cruz. I want Cruz, I can tolerate Trump. Rubio went up in esteem with the media. Means nothing, as the folks don’t want him any more than Jeb. People are voting with their feet and they are flocking to Trump’s rallies. And they are not paid and bussed like Hillary’s meager crowds.
Wow, she must have shown a lot of sang-froid:

I didn’t read that she told him she has no son. Hmmm. A++++
Yes, that's how I got here.
I saw an intriguing post on Drudge about Whitewater in 1998 and the "Fresno" caught my eye. My great grandparents were early pioneers in Fresno. I thought that I might have gone to HS with Robinson, but it turns out that it was a different Robinson. I just stuck around for all of the fun here, although I'm a little ticked at Jim Rob right this minute because of a nasty reply he made to me about Paul Ryan. (using some very crude language). I didn't think I deserved that because all I do is keep other Wisconsin folks up to date on topics that interest Wiscon sin with my ping list. Jim Rob doesn't have to swear at me!
I'll get over it. He just hurt my feelings, that's all.
Paul is very popular here and I think misunderstood on Free Republic. I know him personally and think that he is almost too good to be true. A lot of folks ASSUME motives for him that he doesn't have. His inaugural speech today was wonderful. If only we could achieve all that! I hope that Paul is successful.
Whew! Hot, hot, hot! (weeks on end of 100+ temps in the summer.) I hope he doesn't get defeated by the cold weather in upstate NY. But, I don't blame him for leaving. I left when I was 18 and then desterted the whole state in 1972. I've only been back for weddings, funerals, and cclass reunions since. The state is a mess.
That was directed at PR, not you. I cannot say I am happy with PR. He has disappointed me before.
His parents live there with no AC.
Oh me, too (as far as being disappointed).
I have found Paul Ryan to be frequently misinterpreted however. We have a serious illegal immigration problem, but “a path to citizenship” is NOT about illegals. A path to citizenship is in the Constitution, for Heaven’s sake. I get very annoyed at people who conflate a path to legal citizenship with illegals sneaking over the border. People just stop listening when the spectre of immigration is raised, no matter how they get here! That is because our own government doesn’t enforce our own laws.
As far as Ryan’s suggestions to reform SS, they seem resonable although some here go ballistic at the very suggestion f any change. They’d rather see us go over the cliff than modify the retirement age slightly for those not yet receiving benefits.
Ryan’s suggestion about reducing some benefits to vets has absolutely no support from me, however. I really disagree with him on that.
Paul is 100% pro-life. That is where I met him, as the keynote speaker at a “Christian Coalition” team that was forming for the Bush election.
The main thing about Paul is that he really wants to tackle the national debt to get government spending and the defecit in control. You may not like some of his solutions (that’s why Congress votes) but you can’t disagree with his motivation. I thought his speech today was wonderful, but it’s up to the Senate to tackle this awful spending bill. We’ll see how Rand Paul’s filabuster goes. I don’t have much hope, but maybe they’ll surprise me. Rand Paul needs 41 votes to throw a monkey wrench into the debt limit bill.
Good grief! NOBODY lives there without AC. We did when I was a child, but the climate has changed since then. There has been so much irrigation in the Central Valley that there is a higher humidity rate there now. I remember the day when we got our first "desert air" cooler after WW II when we could get such things. It was an affair with coir pads and water piped over them while a fan blew. It hung in the window. Nobody had real AC. Perhaps the very wealthy and departments stores. I can tell you than no school had AC. We had huge windows that we flung open in hot weather. By the time I was in college, my parents got a real AC because a desert air cooler no longer did the job (to say nothing about it being messy with water always leaking in). During WWII, before we got the desert air cooler, my dad used to bring home a big block of ice, and he would position it in an enamel pan on the floor with an electric fan blowing over it. I spent many an hour lying on the foor with my toys soaking up all the cool air! LOL. My grandmother would also skim all of the cream off the top of the milk (before homogeonized milk was available). When she had saved enough, she would put it in a clean mayonnaise jar and give it to me to roll around on the floor to make butter. Our children will never experience those joys! LOL.
My daughter has described a similar set up at his parent’s house. They stay at his sister’s when they visit as she has AC.
