The Outlaw Josey Wales 1976 - Best Scene (About Governments)
Youtube ^

Josie Wales: “Governments don’t live together. People live together. Governments don’t give you a fair word or a fair fight. I’ve come here to give you either one. Or get either one from you… I’m saying that men can live together without butchering one another…”

A great classic movie scene all Freepers can appreciate.

Josey Wales is a former Confederate States of America fighter moving out West after the war between the States and wanted by the Union. The Calvary is in pursuit of him.

Anyway here is his conversation with the Comanches.

Find it interesting at the end of the scene the agreement between Joey Wales and the Comanches is a hand shake with blood which represents the "Life Force".

Great stuff!

That’s some pretty good family history. Something to pass down the generations.
My family got off the ship and struck out for the Virginia wilderness, squatted on some ground and we’ve been here ever since.
You know how Scotts can be. Give’em some hills and they’re happy.

It was on TV just a month or so back, can’t remember which channel. My wife had never seen it, and I enjoyed watching it again for the first time in maybe 40 years. It’s still a good movie.

LOL. Also whatever happened to Benny? In the scenes with Abe and Lige, Benny on the horse was suppose to be nearby.

IIRC, you hear hoofbeats fading into the distance after the gunfire. I guess Benny was a bit smarter than the other two (though Abe was the more foolish, Lige just fell victim to the old "gold under the blanket" ploy). Now when I watch that scene, my mind keeps hearing "Uncle Leo" from Seinfeld when Abe speaks. :-)

I've always liked the trading post scene, too - flipping those big Walker Colts just never gets old.

Sorry, they are not fond of Texans. FACT.

I got along with the KS businessmen just fine though. I worked for a company based in KS and I am not a sports fan and never got sucked into that rivalry.
