The two stars are almost exactly the same size, so one doesn’t overpower the other, plus the rotate around a common axis at a very fast speed.............

i just can't get over the gravity thing... gravity attracts, so to me it seems they should both be attracting each other,specially if they have the same size gravitational field, unless revolving around each other at incredible speed

They revolve around their shared center of gravity. When the velocity of revolution falls below the threshold needed to overcome the centripetal speed, they will merge.....................

The Earth and Moon share this same dance. Right now, the Moon is edging away from Earth at about an inch a year, but it will eventually reverse course, and when it gets to the right point, the gravity of Earth will tear the Moon apart, creating a ring, or rings of debris just like the Jovian planets have.....................
