The nonrefundable honeymoon was also paid for in advance, according to KCRA. The would-be wife and her mother were expected to leave for Belize on Sunday.

A honeymoon all paid for and the bride-to-be chooses her mother to go with her?

The groom made a wise choice.

Keep running groom, and don't look back!

And probably cost less than paying for their daughter to divorce him in a few years...

Someday the bride will realize just how lucky she was.

Should she have taken some guy she met in the bar that night? Who would you suggest taking?

Hmmm. MAYBE they should have fed the original guests, you know, all of those friends and family who spent all of that time and money giving you wedding gifts, scheduling their time to be there, buying bridesmaids dresses and renting tuxes, spending time at the rehearsals, etc. How selfish to screw these good and loyal friends over to feed a bunch of smelly mooches and bums.

if it was a guy who was jilted, the ad for a 20 something gal to go to Belize would be put up almost immediately. Either that or ask a hot friend.

The original guests still being invited might have been nice too, as they put the day aside and the party theme could have just changed.

it’s happened in my family when sister didn’t want surprise party and refused to show up when she found out about it a week before.

so we made it an Oktoberfest and had a ball :)

Now becomes a tax deductible charitable donation. Smart.

The Best Man. That would have really pissed off the Groom.

Would you have expected her to have another man on the side, just in case? Or maybe a quick new fling? Who should she have taken in your mind?

“The bride chose to stay home while the meal was served.”

I don’t, of course, now why but a very public humiliation like this is unjustifiable and cruel. However the family was a class act with the giveaway.

Who do you think she should have gone with, instead? Since Mr. Fly-by-Night was not available?

$35,000 for a wedding?

My wedding set me back $189 at the Little Church of the West in Las Vegas in April 2000....

I think that’
s a bad idea. Can you imagine a more glum bunch of people? They were all “jilted” by Mr. Fly-by-Night as well.

Thanks Nick, that’s what I was thinking too.

Taking her mother (who had paid for the wedding) was a great choice.

Another couple perhaps? If I was jilted on the altar, no way am I taking the honeymoon with my mother.

I like catnipman's suggestion. Let the original guests party on as planned and maybe raffle off the honeymoon trip during the reception.

But for the bride-to-be to take her mother. So lame. Speaks volumes of how that marriage would have turned out.

Maybe she didn’t want to spend several hours with close friends and family re-explaining over and over why he dumped her or why she was too blind to see this coming?

Maybe she wanted to walk away feeling something good happened that day and not endure a multi-hour relationship “wake”.

It wouldn’t necessarily mean that they were going to share a room together. They could have been in the same city doing their own thing. I wouldn’t necessarily be opposed to my MIL coming on the trip, as long as she stayed on another floor and went about the vacation time separately.
