In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of "Word for the Day".
mawkish; adj.
1. characterized by sickly sentimentality; weakly emotional; maudlin.
2. having a mildly sickening flavor; slightly nauseating.
Etymology: 1660-70; obsolete mawk maggot ( late Middle English < Old Norse mathkr maggot) + -ish1. See maggot

Practice makes perfect.....post on....
indeed.
At least all my kids are adults, that has to be a hard trip for her.
We have a heck of a lot of work to bid out of this office in the next 8 months, so I’ll have to remind my daughters how to run the snowblower. Muahahaha.
you will be wintering in Orlando, LOL!
I keep hearing that he is waiting to see if Hillary self immolates at the Benghazi hearing; if something big comes out there, he will def be in.
DWS is just a vile, disgusting thing (can’t say person) and very typical of the more vocal liberals I know. Yuck.
Kelly won’t like that. She wants to do househunting and wedding planning. I plan to show up, don’t care about the details.
Yes, it is. I hope he’s given the opportunity to do better since there is still a lot of football to play this season.
Ma Thatcher was certainly not mawkish about getting the Flaklands back after Argentina invaded ... She got downright agressively hawkish in fact.
The Administration’s mawkish pleas for Syrian refugees are hypocritical in the extreme, since obama, Hillary, and Samantha started the war in the first place!!!!
those are the fun parts!
I would hope the coach and teammates would be compassionate towards him. Crazed fans you can’t do much about, haters gonna hate.
A+++
true that! A+++
I still think, either way, he is in. He has a huge ego - and if barry hates hil the way we think, he isn’t going to stand for her coming in behind him and possibly changing anything he set up. Joe is being courted big time right now by those who don’t think she can win - and I just don’t see him as being the type to turn down that kind of power
I agree.
It was 56 when I drove out of the gate this morning at 7-but it has warmed up to 78...
Liberals use their “feelings”
And so look weak and mawkish
In front of all our enemies
When they should be hawkish
Vlad Putin senses weakness-
He leads Obama into his trap
But he respected Bush because
He didn’t put up with the crap
We are in need of a leader now
Who doesn’t have an empty head
Occupied with socialist dreams
But who commands respect instead...
I think you are right, too-Biden is not going to resist the opportunity of trashing queen Hillary in a debate, in interviews-anywhere at all-especially if she gets her ass handed to her in the Bengazi hearings...
Funny how the armed forces managed to tackle a culturally sensitive topic without being mawkish:

IMHO it has a lot to do with the masculine tenor of society, especially its hallowed institutions.
Good one! A +++
