Reminds me of one of the many, many times I had latrine duty at Camp Pendleton....once at the Base Headquarters building I was working in an officers' sh*tter where there was a prominent sign reading:
"If this head is not clean enough to your satisfaction, please report to office"
Apparently, some poor sap who'd had the same duty as I - probably quite recently - handwrote at the bottom: "For a bucket and mop"...

I was wasting five years at UCONN when I noticed that a group of campus watermelons* was posting flyers for a global warming rally. I have a rather well developed streak of mischief in me so I started writing on them “I wonder how many trees died to make these silly flyers?”
*Watermelon: Green on the outside RED on the inside.

My Dad (RIP) told my brother and I, before each of us headed to basic training (or ROTC training in my case), “never, EVER, volunteer for anything in training...and if possible, start smoking before you go.”
Apparently, when he went through basic training in the 1950s, anyone not taking a smoke break would get volunteered for crap jobs. Those who actually volunteered got the worst jobs.
