Drunk driving suspect claims his dog was driving the car
The dog was nowhere to be seen, but that didnt stop one drunk driving suspect from blaming his pet.
Florida resident Reliford Cooper III was arrested after crashing his car and promptly gave police a rather unbelievable 'excuse'.
"Who was chasing me?" he asked the officer, adding: "My dog was driving that car, I ran 'cause I wanted to. You aint gonna find no drugs or guns on me."
Mr Cooper is alleged to have ignored a stop sign and travelled across two ditches before crashing into an occupied home, according to a police report published by The Smoking Gun.
The 26-year-old is alleged to have exited his vehicle, ran into a church and hid in the toilets. He was then forced out of the building by parishioners, police say.
I was able to smell the strong odour of an alcoholic beverage, as well as an odour of burnt marijuana, said the officer who made the arrest.
Reliford continued to ramble without being questioned, he added in his report.
The suspect then vomited at the scene before claiming to have suffered a back injury in the crash.

Whats so unbelievable? Dogs can’t reach the brake so a crash was bound to happen at some point...
I only let my dog drive the car that has hand controls...
Does the dog have a driver’s license?
Is Florida one of those states that give illegals driver’s license?
Well of course. Conservatives are responsible people!
Who are these residents of Florida what are engaged in ridiculous drunk driving offenses recently? I thought Florida only had to beware of pensioners behind the wheel. sarc/off
Meh, what's the big deal.
My dog always insists on driving.
I’ve seen The Shaggy D.A.—he was able to reach the brake.
Lies! It was a dude in a suit!!!!
A man in Indiana was pulled over recently and the cops found meth in the vehicle. The driver claimed he had just landed on the space shuttle.

“.. was bound to happen at some point”.
Especially if the dog had been drinking alcohol and smoking weed... bound to happen. :)
My daughter’s Besset is a heavy drug user. Or he just acts like a crackhead. Could go either way.
That’s the problem with being a drunk, eventually the only friend left is your dog. “Hey, Dog, you’re driving...”
omg these are good... &^)
Some dog owners probably believe that they can train their dogs to drive a car...Not only to drive a car but to drive responsibly.
You can always tell when a dog is driving.
They don’t have thumbs, so they can’t fasten the seatbelt and that annoying alarm goes off forever.
Dogs drive pretty well ... until a cat runs across the road.
When my Dog whines that she wants to drive, I tell her that’s fine, but then she pays at the drive thru.
