The news has been hurtling around the world tonight on Twitter:Welcome home, Kirsten.
O...
K...
274 of 281 is Too Long; Didn't Read?
Was she not "home" before she became a Catholic?
Yes, if she is a liberal, since such would feel far more at home in Catholicism than real evangelical churches.
But no, if she was truly born again and walking in the Spirit, as the deadness of Rome stands in contrast to that. Plus, despite modern Rome calling SS types "separated brethren" rather than separating them with the sword of men, yet at best those outside Rome are held to be second-class citizens, in communities not worthy to properly called "churches." Thus Powers could not be considered to be at home in any other church, but only living in a shack, despite the lack of clothes for the Roman emperor she must submit if a faithful RC, which few are.
Past popes had a strange way of expressing that.
Pope Eugene IV and the Council of Florence: "The sacrosanct Roman Church...firmly believes, professes, and proclaims that..not only pagans, but also Jews and heretics and schismatics cannot become participants in eternal life but will depart into everlasting fire...unless before the end of life the same have been added to the flock; and that..no one, whatever almsgiving he has practiced, even if he has shed blood for the name of Christ, can be saved, unless he has remained in the bosom and unity of the Catholic Church. Pope Eugene IV and the Council of Florence (Seventeenth Ecumenical Council), Cantate Domino, Bull promulgated on February 4, 1441 (Florentine style), [considered infallible by some]
Yes. You usually post rather long-winded posts of little interest, so I usually skip your posts altogether.
Your current post is delightfully short.
All that being said, on the occasions when I have read your points, I found them in error, but usually not anti-Catholic.
To the contrary.....daniel1212 posts the best sourced and documented posts on these threads.
I didn’t say that were poorly-sourced or not documented, just of little interest and nowhere near the investment of time required to read them.
A less than 300 word post is long winded when you posted a 400 word one the same day? And it was of little interest when it directly responded to your post? More like avoiding rebuke?
All that being said, on the occasions when I have read your points, I found them in error, but usually not anti-Catholic.
Really? Then please show us where they were in error, esp when reproving Rome?
Great. The last thing we need is more liberals in the Catholic church.
How about putting some objective criteria in the membership by-laws to keep these losers out?
Rather, you have a article that celebrates a celebrity becoming a RC that once professed to be an evangelical, and you expect not challenges and reproof to that elitist faith? If it was about a RC becoming an evangelical should we not expect the typical disparaging remarks about Prots from RCs? And unlike you apparently, I well know and can attest to what i speak of.
Of course RCs too typically whine about "Catholic bashing" which means anything that challenges and reprove that elitist faith which they have advertised and promoted for years here, and even ping the owner, as it seems they demand FR be as an organ of the Vatican.
Yet it was manifestly not any reproof of Catholicism that was banned, but besides the long standing censure of flaming, it was the constant posting of articles attacking that faith which brought the hammer down on such. But having achieved this, as well as (previously) the banning of certain (only) anti-Catholic sites, some RCs want all posts that impugns their elitist faith censored, similar to the ACLU thinking the 1st Amendment means the gov cannot express Christian faith at all.
But while RCs assumed that this meant they could continue to post obviously provocative articles on unique claims or celebration of their faith and be protected from challenges and reproof, that thankfully has not been the case, and which would make the well thought out and judiciously applied RF rules superfluous if it was.
As for the nature of anti-Catholicism that RCs want banned, please provide the posts and let us see if the like is not posted by RCs against Prots, and by posters who thus would fit your description of "maniacal," "pietistic."
“I hope to one day hear her say...’Im becoming a Christ follower!’”
Ideally. Better than a Mary follower. Anyhow, I’m not surprised she’s choosing this cult. Although FR has many RC posters, it’s not the norm; EVERY Catholic I know personally is a left-wing loon. Socialistic, even. Some are heavy donors to Emily’s list and Planned Parenthood. Kirsten will fit in fine. She’s chosen correctly considering her beliefs.
It isn’t that you’re incapable of shorter posts. But you often post pages and pages of stuff, and long after I’ve given up on reading them (or dispensed with bothering to read any of them), I’ve found myself still needing to scroll through their interminable lengths to get to posts where I can read them in under a week (okay, I exaggerate).
In that you are not a Catholic, your “rebukes” (If that’s what you’ve been writing to me) don’t actually mean anything to me. I’m glad I didn’t waste my time reading them.
On occasions when I’ve cared to read some of your output, it seems like all the non-Catholic junk that is useless to me.
I won’t bother to try to explain because you might accuse me of writing a however-many-word tome (and you would be right!), and you wouldn’t understand it anyway. You don’t have a Catholic sensibility.
Yet you must have read them to be able to make this statement.
If they’re short enough, I might. Or might not. If they’re more than a screenful, probably not. Just scroll right past ‘em.
We get bashed for saying we are posting “anti-Catholic” rhetoric, yet in truth here is a prime example of Protestant bashing that is left unchecked.
Amen!

You are so sure and very, very perceptive. How special. LOLLOL
Since the time of Christ, there have been those against the truth....still are, anti-Catholics exist, who cares???
