Well, I am sorry your vacation got cut short, but it was a brilliant move on DH’s part to check the weather and boogie a day early!
If you can get reservations, some of the Flori-Duh State parks are very nice. Problem is, the Snowbirds can reserve them throughout the season a year in advancc (which they do!), so you have to be on your toes to get a spot.
Try Key West in March; the Snowbirds have left by then, and the weather is pleasant. We’ve camped in both of the Everglades campgrounds, and liked both of them.
