SOUTH TEXAS (CBSDFW.COM) Katelyn Thornley, 12, started sneezing incessantly about a month ago and hasnt stopped.
Thornley said she sneezes up to 20 times a minute. Thats 12,000 a day. She can no longer attend school or play her clarinet in the schools band.
It just started in little spurts. I just started sneezing. I thought it was like, oh Im just allergic to something, she said. Im constantly in pain with my abdomen, my legs are hurting because Ive been weak and I can barely eat.
Her sneezing affliction came out of nowhere, according to Thornley. Shes seen six doctors so far and they have already ruled out allergies. They said she doesnt have a virus and have no idea whats causing the issue.

Vagus nerve mainly responsible for sneezing and hiccuping reflexes....once had a guy who had been hiccuping for 4 days.....gave him valium and it stopped. Put her on a course of diazepam...see what happens.
Sleep, Benadryl, music all relax muscles.
Squeezing your nose does help for constant sneezes. So does taking a shower or splashing cold water in your face. Those are all muscle related.
Maxwell's Silver Hammer is rather catchy...
Perhaps a prayer chain on her behalf?
Poor child! I used to have sneezing fits but mine was allergy. Never sneezed as much as she does. I hope they can find a cure for her.
