I can’t help it...I’m team Simcoe all the way. Love him, lol.
We’re getting ready to watch The Strain season finale and will catch FTWD tomorrow. From what I’m reading here, I’m excited!
Travis becomes a man!
Yes, it’s impossible not to love to hate Simcoe.
TURN will be better than ever next season.
I didn’t watch FWD tonight but after reading the posts, it seems to have gotten better.
Travis went “Full Ricktator” all over that Soldier Dude.
Agree. Travis is an idiot.
Seems like the entire cast is a bunch of liberal characters.
I don’t even hate Simcoe, LOL. And though I love Hewlett, I’d like to see Simcoe and Anna together though I know it won’t happen.
I’m looking forward to seeing the finale of FTWD.
If you’re still going to watch “The Strain”...
We just watched the season finale and I feel like my guts have been ripped out after almost suffering several heart attacks. It was every bit as good as a Walking Dead season finale.
Amazing show.
That was his “come to the reality of the situation” moment.
I really enjoyed this season of this show. It was slow moving and sometimes confusing but, TWD is that way at times too, especially during the first and second seasons.
I hoped Andy (the soldier dude) was gonna live but he had to turn bad, since all the military seems to be bad on this show. But, it was Travis’ realization moment (he gave him a chance, believed him and got screwed). His beating him up was Travis’ moment so to speak.
Travis killing his ex was another point of realization for Travis. He did what she wanted, she knowing she’d turn
The show was sorta slow moving but I really enjoyed it and loved the finale.
Hey Eaker :) Did you watch? How’s that baby who is probably 4 or so by now? Say Hi to Donna, too. Time really flies!
looks like travis found his manhood
Could be but, I don’t think he ever lost it. Not everyone is gung ho, all out. He was frustrating to watch, as a viewer, but how many of us would be all guns blazing without seeing it for ourselves? Madison saw it first hand and had to kill her friend/the principal once he attacked Tobias. Travis didn’t have that kind of experience until tonight. And when he experienced it, he stepped up. Then he killed his infected ex wife (way sooner than the beloved Morgan did on the TWD...he didn’t kill his ex until his ex ate his son, so there’s that).
I really enjoyed the finale.
Thus far, the entire series has been a colossal failure and total waste of time. I was so hoping loser Johnny Dep Drug Boy and his sleazy slick partner would "bite the dust" in the locked corridor but NOOOooo, the simple minded, formula writers had to have them escape "just in the nick of time"... how trivially convenient!
One more glaring example of inept writing; there is no way the three burley, soldiers who stole the familie's van wouldn't have taken the girl/daughter with them and left unconscious, self absorbed loser boy to fend for himself. It is the end of the world as they know it. Uninfected women are scarce and few and far between and these guys know these facts making it highly improbable they would have left without taking her with them.
Agreed.
Wow awesome final. Sad but still awesome. Now what have I learned from tonight’s episode:
1)Never walk behind a chopper.
2)Never park your car in the middle of the parking garage. Instead park it next among other cars.
3) Zombies do not use tools
4) When the SHTF run immediately to Malibu and take over a beach house.
5) Pacifists finally get mugged by reality.
6) Looks like AMC Badlands series will be awesome!
I hope Chris does not hate his father for what he needed to be done.
I shouldn’t have read that, I’m just about to watch The Strain!
You must only be reading the internet because that isn’t true. I like the main characters. Sometimes I don’t like them.
I don’t really like the “black guy” and don’t understand why he’s loved on the internet just like I never got Morgan’s love from internet fans. Is it because he’s black? Are fans of the show supposed to love the black characters because they’re black even when they’re stupid or inconsequential? Are we supposed to be upset that a black guy dies? Because I don’t care at all.
I didn’t care that Tbone, Tyrese, or Bob died on TWD. I don’t like the black minister, and I don’t really like Morgan yet and don’t care if he dies. I also don’t like Sasha much yet. Another black character who annoys the hell out of me.
I love Michonne, who happens to be black. Just like the aforementioned happened to be black but crappy characters, imo.
So I like this cast even those I don’t like (daniel, Strand, junkie nick).
I like that the military/soldiers just took the SUV and didn’t take the teenage girl with them. At least the show didn’t go that far in the debasing the military.
I like the main characters (other than the black guy).
Then you shouldn’t watch since you don’t enjoy the show. I don’t watch anything that doesn’t entertain me. Life is too short.
So you think the USA Military would take a teen girl hostage? How liberal of you. I’m glad I don’t live in your world of hatred for the military.
Just watched The Strain, I never liked the new kid playing the son. I knew he’d cause something bad to happen!
Morgan and Victor have one thing in common. They both had "figured it out" early on and adapted. (As far as the show's individual stories goes that is.)
In TWD at first Rick is just wandering around trying to find his family and finding no one except dead people and is almost set upon by a Walker while that would almost have certainly bit or scratched him while he was wearing nothing but a hospital gown. Morgan saves him and then explains how the world works now to Rick.
In FTWD Victor is locked up by the Gub'ment troops but has figured out that Bad Shit is coming down and sitting and doing nothing equals dying. He saves Nick (Depp Druggie) and reveals he has a plan to get them out and chose Nick over Fat Useless Dude who was clearly just sucking up good air the rest of them could be breathing. Both Victor and Morgan come to turns early with the reality of the situation (in their individual stories) and made the best of it with the tools they had or could scrounge up.
Besides everyone loves the Bad Boys. Daryl started as the Bad Boy and has become the Favorite Character of The Walking Dead. Carol was a sad little victim of spousal abuse and was just a minor character but she went through the fire and came out one of the Baddest of the Bad Girls. Just look at the internet memes on Carol now. "look at the Flowers" "eat the Cookies" etc. Now she is one of the most favorites characters.
Morgan started out as a Bad Guy he tied up our POV character and was going to off him with no regrets if he had been bitten.
So what are the chances FTWD is going to go sea-born a-la John Ringo’s latest series?
You described the issues perfectly.
The poor, non credible writing is the root problem of this show.
It makes the characters not likable, and situations not credible.
I’m guessing there is a reason there were on only 6 episodes.
Time to focus group the few episodes and time to try to fix those
viewer issues before the next season.
Won’t that get old after awhile?
And at some point they’ll have to come ashore for supplies (and so druggie kid can steal another bad outfit ;-)
Did I spoil something for you!? Oh, man...I’m sorry, Mac.
