The casino employees chose their jobs and they alone decided whether or not to protect themselves by moving on when they SAW things heading downhill.
In a former life I worked for a Fortune 500 company that had the reputation that “If you have a job at XYZ, you have a job for life.” One day, out of the blue, XYZ announced the closing of the division in which I had worked for 13 years.
Using the thinking that “There’s a great big world out there,” I decided to change careers , into a totally different field. Witin a month I was fully employed, and 35 years later I retired, and am living happily ever after.
El Rushbo has said it often:”If you are willing to CHANGE, and even relocate if necessary, there are jobs everywhere. If you refuse to adapt, or move, you alone are responsible for your lack of success.
Now....let the critics and badmouthers say what they will. I know I’m right. Get off your duff and hustle. There’s a great big world out there. There are employers salivating for solid, energetic DEPENDABLE employees. But you may have to CHANGE or MOVE to meet them.
Amen.
Tuck, I agree, but where in the country do you suppose all the laid off oil field, pipe fitters, machinist are suppose to move now in the new Obama economy.
The oil business dragged America out of the recession and have been layed off in droves. Where do you suppose they should move now in the great Obama economy.
I wish the LSM would show stories about all those boom town North Dakota, Marcellus or south Texas towns today
