Donald Trump catapulted himself into the spotlight with his gilded real estate ventures and vibrant personality. The latter is what has made his show "The Apprentice" such a huge success.

And over the years, he's had an opinion or two about the business world.

"In the end, you're measured not by how much you undertake but by what you finally accomplish," Trump once said.

But like any successful business person, Trump has had his share of setbacks. Here, we present to you 12 Trump businesses that went belly up or no longer exist.

Yeah, let’s compare Trump’s and Rubio’s money management.

The pure hatred towards the GOPe has pushed the establishment candidates waaay behind. Which is fine but we are at a time that no matter what bad things are said about Trump/Carson the backlash is directed towards the messenger.

I’ll vote for Trump as the nominee but there are still plenty of questions out there to be answered. Who knows Trump may not be the nom. I have some I’ll not vote for.

Trump believes he should be president because of his business savvy. But he has, in effect, shrunk the large inheritance he received from his father. In 1982, Forbes reported Trump’s net worth at $200 million. Vox calculates that if he had put that in an index fund “at a 0.15 percent fee, he’d have $6.3 billion today after dividend taxes, almost certainly more than he actually does.”

It doesn’t really matter how many businesses have failed. Most businesses fail. He perseveres and made many successful. That makes him successful.

How many other opponents have become wealthy outside of their political careers?

That said, there’s plenty I don’t agree with him on. It’s just that he loves this country and doesn’t play along with the PC garbage, which is very refreshing - so if he ends up being the Republican candidate, so be it. I’ll vote for him.

...sometimes I think we get hung up on the “perfect” candidate. Last time I checked, Jesus Christ was not walking the earth :)

Wow, if Trump wasn’t such a serial screw-up, I’ll bet he’d be a millionaire by now.

Oh wait...

Cop a clue, boy. Trump got where he is by taking risks. Real risk-takers lose sometimes. It’s part of life.

The point is that when Trump sees he’s losing money, he bails out.

The government, on the other hand, just doubles down and won’t admit they failed.

Spinboy certainly gave himself the right handle.

I think that’s what they call a Freudian Slip. Nobody ever blurts out a lie. If they blurt it out; it’s the truth.

Oh well; An honest confession is good for the soul, they say. However, once you confess, you must do as Jesus said; go and sin no more. So he’d be well advised to STOP SPINNING. Go and spin no more, as it were. Eh, what?
