Sisters that taught at my schools were fond of Mertons writings. I wasn’t the best student...I wish I had taken the op to learn back then. Now i play “catch up” but a lot of books are “free” for kindle and I’ll look for that one for perspective.
Opening the book to a random page, I find pearls like:

Oh boy ... Hopefully it’s free for Kindle.
