Oh horsecrap you are trying to find an out knowing you blathered without knowing what you were talking about. You claimed the were getting out of the hardware business and now you are trying to morph it into they are just gonna put their name on someone else's stuff. Yet Kindle is still the number one selling ebook reader.

I mean using your logic then we can say Apple got out of the hardware business long ago when they had foxconn start making their stuff.

I am not trying to "find an out" because I don't need one. You are delusional if you think I need one.

I think that Amazon will be having their brand name products designed and manufactured by third-parties from now on. They got their heads handed to them with the Amazon Fire Phone fiasco. . . and most of the tech punditry is claiming their hardware department is "struggling." So, Mad Dawgg, this opinion is not just mine, although from the evidence, it sure does look that way. I linked you to articles on the layoffs more recent than your rumor articles about new hardware.

You are the one hanging your hat on unsubstantiated rumors and expanding the statement I made from just the Amazon Fire TV into tablets and other hardware, not me. I did not ever bring those products into this discussion. . . but since YOU did with your talk of the new $50 tablet before Christmas, I analyzed what they have to be doing to be able to afford to do that.

If you have a problem with an EXPERIENCED ECONOMIST and EX-CEO telling you what he thinks is going on from the evidence YOU presented, well that just too damn bad!

No, you cannot say that Apple got out of the hardware business which makes you more delusional. . . because Apple DESIGNS their hardware and manages it's manufacture, and sells hardware as their primary business. Amazon does not. It is not their primary business. Amazon is a RESELLER and a CONSIGNMENT SELLER.

FoxConn builds to Apple's specific designs including all engineering and Apple even specific chips and processors. Amazon does not. If Amazon were to continue designing their hardware, then they would not be laying off their engineers. Apple is building a huge new building to house their engineers, capable of holding 30,000 employees.

Have you ever been in business? As for your claim that Kindle is the number one e-book reader, your own links claim that Amazon Tablets, which now are the Kindle, only claimed 1% of the market. The facts just don't bear you out. Amazon has never published ANY of their sales numbers for these products. Frankly, we simply don't know.

Hahahah

And wrong yet again

Kindle ereaders are not tablets They are gadgets like the Kindle Paperwhite. Tablets are the Fire line, and the Kindle Fire tablet.

How many times have you been wrong in this thread alone?

You claim Amazon is getting out of the hardware business but they just introduced the new Kindle paperwhite. And are bringing out a 50 buck tablet for Christmas reported by WSJ.

See the problem is you got caught and then had to gin up a scenario that makes your false statement true by changing definitions and slicing semantics.

And you really want to try the economist card again? hahaha that brings up some fun memories of you trying to explain to us how the total cost of sale of buying a new iphone by trading in an old iphone did not include the price you paid for the old iphone (which includes down payment and contract costs) because you realized the math didn't work on your claim that you pay less that way.

Though I can see why you are an EX-CEO being you can't do simple math.

hahahaha this is getting good now. Sword is becoming unhinged and grasping.

BTW your logic sez if a company does not make their own stuff and farms it out then they are out of the hardware business. Face it Sword you've FUDed yourself into a corner, and it is so fun to watch your squirm.

Next you will be telling us that if a Pilot's iPad powers down because an app glitches it has nothing to do with Apple even though they designed the ipad OS in such a way that an App can power down the iPad and ground flights.

Oh wait, you already tried that laugher hahahaha
