Monday, the regular season ends for minor league baseball fans. (With the exception of the Pioneer League, which ends on Tuesday.)
There are still more than half a dozen races going down to the last day of play. Teams still trying to clinch include the El Paso Chihuahuas and the Asheville Tourists.
If we look at the top 5 levels of the minors (AAA, AA, A+, A-, A short):
Most MLB clubs (20) have one or two affiliates making the playoffs. SIX MLB clubs have ZERO affiliates currently in the playoffs (ATL, WASH, MIA, COL, LAA, BOS). FOUR clubs have 3 or more:
HOUS 5 !! (every team)
TEX 3
PHIL 3
AZ 3
Winning teams does not necessarily mean great prospects, but the Astros look like they've built a winning organization from top to bottom. I will post below on the SEVEN undecided playoff spots remaining as scores come in.
I’m done with the Sox till next year. They need to fire Robin and KW although Jerry is so cheap I doubt that will happen.
Yanks are in danger of getting swept in a doubleheader ... by TOR.
Bumgarner is perfect thru 5.
Yanks got swept. gotta root for Twins to catch the Skanky Yankies.
Not me, go Yankees! Go Rangers! No Twinkies!
I guess it is go ANGELS. OR GO TRIBE
