Trump is right not taking on the Kim Davis Issue
Vanity | 9/3/2015 | Dr. James Schulze, D.Min. (PEARUSA)

Donald Trump is taking a lot of heat from people who would like to see him support the dear lady, Kim Davis, in Kentucky. Those same people, if they think about it are asking him to commit political suicide. Trump is right, for now. Sorry. Everyone, and I include myself, is disappointed, but not surprised that 4 liberal justices and one who has always been sympathetic to the 'queer class' decided that homosexuals are a minority and deserve the protection of law and equal rights. They have also ruled that the crucial parts of the 'Defense of Marriage Act' are unconstitutional. Deal with it like adults fellas. The lady in Kentucky has every right to 'civil disobedience', if that's what it is. Others say that she is the only one actually obeying the law. In other words there is no Kentucky Statute authorizing her to give a license to a homosexual couple. She may be right on that, but it will be a long slog through the courts to prove it, by which time the election will be decided. Civil disobedience on a massive scale however would not reverse the legal process. The only way that marriage will ever be legally defined as 'between a man and a woman' in the country again would be through an amendment to the constitution, which is not going to happen when you consider the demographics, the support for and promotion of LGBT in the media and educational system, and the Federal bureaucracy. Or, perhaps, a few states could try seceding again. Donald is smart. He wants to get elected. We can't be dumb enough to ask him to die for what is, unfortunately, a lost cause. The problem here is that absolute moral judgements, not backed by the authority of divinity are just strong opinions. And, in the court of public opinion and in the court of law the opinion that gays should be denied marriage benefits has lost; and we no longer have a majority of people in this country who are committed to the absolute authority of the God revealed in the Bible. If you want to turn this country around in a moral sense... get off of Trump and get on your knees. In the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in Simi Valley is a Bible that he treasured and got from his mother. In it's glass case the book is opened and verses are underlined... they read... "...if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land." 2 Chron 7:14

I did not make my comparisons to you and Germans lightly. They too were mesmereized by a Populist who would say and do anything the people wanted.

You want to stand with Trump regardless of his abandoning freedom of religion? I get that. As you said; this is a “political calculation not a moral position”.

Well, as a Christian, let me tell you that my moral positions come first. Especially in the voting booth. Sorry you don’t think that way.

Your mighty fine resume is impressive, but the fact that you would place basic fundamental (Christian) positions in second place is all we need to know about you.

Your name “responsibility 2nd’ is apt. It is irresponsible to waste your vote on someone who has no chance of being elected. How many of our 44 presidents were “Christians” according to your definition? How many of them ever involved themselves in social issues. We are trying to elect a ‘chief executive’ not a pastor. We are trying to elect someone who can stem the tide of illegal immigration that is making the destruction of the USA as we know it imminent. We are trying to elect someone who understands business well enough to rescue us from our imminent financial catastrophe. Ted Cruz is never going to be president, no Huckabee, or Carson... I love and respect all these men, but they can all find a place on the Supreme Court or as VP’s or cabinet Secretary. The Donald can deal with the critical issues I mention above or we won’t have a country for you to pontificate about. By the way, who is the ‘we’ that know all they need to know about me. What an ignorant, arrogant, judgmental statement.

You think Cruz, Huckabee or Carson can’t be elected? OK.

But Trump? Do you really think he can win without the support of the conservative base? How’d that work out for McCain and Mitt? You better hope Trump carries a HUGE swath of dem voters. But why wouldn’t he? He’s been a democrat for far longer than he’s ever been a republican.

I see you are hanging on to your pro-Trump positions based on his anti-illegal and his pro-business positions.

When the time comes, and Trump abandons those ideas also, will you be more surprised or more disappointed?

Either way - I’m here now telling you I told you so.

Answer to your “by the way”. We are socons. You stike me as a libertarian. You are one of those, aren’t you?

Another observation on your post.....

The Donald can deal with the critical issues I mention above or we won’t have a country for you to pontificate about.

How hard is it to understand this...

And for those who say she should resign because of her Christian beliefs, I post a reminder that this nation was founded for and by believers in the one true Judeo-Christian God. Our constitution and entire system of government is based on Judeo-Christian principles and that's why the godless progressives are at war against Christianity and religious freedom. If we lose this war, the entire system collapses.

As I said upthread - your opinions run counter to conservatives like Jim Robinson. You think we must win the war on illegals? Great. So do everyone. But first things first.

Besides - who's gonna care if we have 200 million illegals if we have no fundamental freedoms or rules of law respected and obeyed by the Courts or the President? Trump has already surendered on this battlefront. Therefore he is dismissed.

Ok, you win, Trump and I are both dismissed.... by you. So, who cares? I was risking my life for my country in Vietnam and for the Gospel in central Africa while you were pounding out your meglomania on your keyboard. I hope someone is impressed with your imprectations, I’m certainly not.
