Trump doesnt seem terribly interested in the constitution combined with his true believers who openly state that they no longer care about it either.
That's an out and out mischaracterization of the vast majority of his supporters. I saw that story get hot on FR for a day or so and haven't seen much of it since. IIRC, somebody posted a thread about allowing him to be a dictator and he got absolutely SLAMMED by Trump supporters here for advocating the trashing of the Constitution.
Of course Trump has his share of fanatics and loonies. I won't deny that. Statistically bound to happen.
And the only thing I've heard that you could even reasonably claim was a "lack of interest" in the constitution was his questioning the true meaning of the 14th amendment. And doing so in the face of the so-called "scholars" that think the 14th automatically means birthright citizenship for children of illegals.
I was actually impressed that he took the time to review the 14th and consult with his own legal advisors as to whether the common, accepted interpretation of it could be challenged.
