Did I hear Rush Right? Don't let Trump's views bother us 'Cause RNC said Bush, McCain, Romney OK
September 3, 2015 | Vanity

Posted on 09/03/2015 12:43:44 PM PDT by Cincinatus' Wife

Did I hear Rush say that we should be willing to vote for Trump even with all of his baggage and left leaning positions and support for Democrats!?

He said the RNC told us to support McCain and Romney (and I think he threw Bush in there) so we should have no trouble supporting Trump.

That's some kind of rallying cry for conservatives.

So would someone please tell me what Trump stands for (other than saying he'll build the fence and deport gang members), and why (other than you want to believe that he has changed) why anyone would trust him.

I'll give you 2 reasons why I know Donald Trump finds it easy and appropriate to lie. (Current history - I'll leave the long, documented list of his liberal ideological positions aside for this exercise, along with Trump's long, documented list of his support for elected Democrat leaders.)

1. He lied (more than once despite it having been proven a lie) that Wisconsin was doing poorly and that it was because of Scott Walker.

2. He lied about a Walker supporter coming to him asking to take him on to his campaign because he wanted to leave Walker.

And here is a third because it is about FReepers willing to repeat lies about candidates to promote their candidate.

If you believe that your candidate is the best thing for the country, then there should be NO REASON to actively spam threads of other candidates with lies.

Your turn.

You bring up some valid points. I am loving the Trump ride right now, in as much as it pokes the Establishment on both sides in the eye. Now is that enough of a reason to support him with the fervor we see here? I dont know, but I do know that people like you, who bring up his shortcomings, shouldn’t be treated like you are here. I guess its been a looong time, since dissension was treated fairly on FR.

No. That may be what you heard, which explains a lot about you. However, Rush did not even come close to saying that. Rush did say that Trump is definitely not a liberal.

There’s a big “if” in that statement. What about the illegals who have no intention of becoming citizens?

I like Scott Walker. I love Cruz and Carson. Any of the three would be an ideal Conservative President. But I love Ferraris and Lambos and even Porsches. Any one of them would be awesome in my garage.

Windy I love ya like a brother. But Ted Cruz should have the vast majority of the people Trump now enjoys. And the reason he does not I just listed above. Ted Cruz’ history does align with his promises.

Ditto!

I have almost given up listening to Rush and Hannity... seriously, I never THOUGHT I’d be saying this....
If Cruz doesn’t make the nomination, I feel we are lost as a country... we are almost there now sadly..

Your turn.

To establish your credibility, you will need to disclose who you are currently supporting. This will tell us how jaded your opinions are. I'll bet good money that whoever you are supporting has 'lied' in their past.

...people on the right are acting EXACTLY like an Obamabot worshiping hopeandchange at the Pillars of Styro.

Incorrectamundo, my dear friend and brother.

The response to Trump from the conservative right isn't about a cult of personality, or any such lofo group hypnosis.

It's about one thing, and one thing only: The very survival of the political/cultural/spiritual union we call the United States of America.

The sobering fact is, we've run out of time. If the Dems or the Repuke establishment win one more presidential election, you can kiss our mother country good-bye forever, as the-powers-that-be, are going to throw open the borders so wide, that our kind will never win another national election at any level.

As much as I'd love to see a constitutional conservative claim the nomination and win the general this time around, it's not in the cards. Not even close. The numbers simply aren't there. Cruz is the best candidate we have in that realm, and even he isn't without sin. Note that several of his votes over the last year were completely 'off the reservation'. He may be our champion, but we must face the fact that he's not polling well, and hasn't done so throughout this primary.

That aside, our nation is in an existential crisis. It's time we had a president who bloodies noses, punches hippies, drop kicks pansy ass traitor politicians, and scares the bejeezus out of our enemies. Times are too dire for the sort of polished gentlemanly scholars we so admire. What we need now, is a Patton of Politics. We need a street fightin' man. Someone with a hard nose, who doesn't mind mixing it up with the bastards who want to take this country down. Someone who will kick the living shit out of anyone who dares to inflict harm upon the American people.

Trump, thought imperfect, is such a man. The American people recognize it, which is why his numbers continue to rise despite everything he's said and done that would have destroyed any garden variety politician. It's because they see that he's the ONLY candidate running who fully grasps the enormity of the very real crisis we face.

1. He sees that illegals are taking Americans' jobs.
2. He sees that illegals are committing heinous crimes against our citizens at a rate which far exceeds their numbers.
3. He sees that illegals are stealing Billions of taxpayer dollars through our generous welfare programs.
4. He sees that the illegal horde is actually colonizing our country and displacing the rightful owners of America.
5. He sees that illegals are being groomed to be faithful Democrat voters who will soon tip the balance of national elections permanently.

We can't spare this man. He fights. And this time, it really is for all the marbles.

They all make the same meaningless promises we've been hearing for decades...

They're all the same...They're all bought and paid for by the same people...They've all got the same message...It comes down to a matter of personality.

Which is why there are more than ten such establishment lackeys running for president on the Republican ticket.

It's not a 'clown car'. It's a deliberate strategy on the part of the ruling class establishment to steal the election from The People.

Too bad Trump, Carson, Cruz, and Fiorina screwed up their tidy little plans.

It’s utter bullshit to attack CW, or anybody here, personally as paid hacks. CW is a member since 1999. If she’s a paid Walker hack, that’s one hell of a long game.

Perhaps you haven't noticed that CW posts several pro-Walker threads a day here. And I do mean every day. Consistently. So consistently, as a matter of fact, that it's downright service-oriented. Almost like she's getting paid by the word to do it.

She did the exact same thing for Rick Perry here, during the 2012 race. Just as workman/businesslike. Just as regular.

If I were tasked with running a team of internet shills for a given candidate, her performance is exactly what I'd expect for my money.

Nice try but wrong.

I don’t (never have) worked for a campaign or anything involved with them.

But thank you for the compliment.

‘You people aren’t behaving as we expect. You’re not following the plan. You’re messing up all our arrangements. You have to pick a conservative so we can knock them all down one by one. We can’t do that with Trump. How are we supposed to get you to get stuck with our non conservative if you pick your own? Why change your ways now? It’s was working out so well for us before. Let us control you!’

I believe if they could have a poll here at FR, it would show that more than 75% support Trump.

I've considered asking the boss to put up a poll so we could see where the members are on this very question. Been a long time since he's run one, but he's done it before. He's got the software.

Per my observations, your estimate is very conservative. I think it's more like 80-85% of Freeperland supports Trump.
