Ha! Outlaw bikers are not military men, in large portion, so you obviously dont know what youre talking about.
I admit that my perceptions may be subjective, but it has been my experience that those who wear gypsy leather tend to have a very high percentage of military vets in attendance, regardless of their cut... And the true curly wolves I know are, nearly without exception, all military vets, and predictably LRRP/SF/Seal/Ranger.

The club replaces that void in their lives.
Larger clubs rely on an organizational structure to keep everything in order. A lot of guys thrive on this. They want to join these kinds of clubs because they need a sense of “structure and order” in their lives. They want to contribute to a larger goal, and they want their place in the framework.
Some guys are just lost, and many motorcycle clubs offer them “family”. They give them a place in the structure, and tell him that he’s now part of their family, and that they’ll back him up no matter what.

As far as lawbreakers, there are two kinds. There are bad brutal guys who assault, rob, kill, extort, and abuse other people. They're criminals and they break laws. Some of them are bikers and they're scary dudes.
Then there's a different class of lawbreaker where it's his rebel lifestyle that has him "breaking laws." Totally different thing, totally different kind of "criminal." A lot of bikers are mostly that kind of outlaw, if outlaws at all, and BOOGIEMAN, what crappy incompetent cops in Texas!
Come on! Out of 177 arrestees, only one lousy third had even been arrested before, let alone convicted? Are Texas cops that lame?
In my experience, seals, rangers, spec forces, etc do not have any interest in hanging around career criminals.
I dunno, we have plenty around here on FR, maybe they can chime in and tell us what they think? Would they join a criminal biker gang?
