Kart, I have recipes I collected for easy bread making on the top of a stove (thinking one wouldn't have a working oven) and other easy recipes for desserts (like cobblers) on top of the stove and other easy meals to make on top of stove. Most of these recipes came from my researching old Indian recipes and early settler recipes. None are complicated as the idea was EASY and using ingredients one would have on hand in a prepper mode.
None require any ingredient that would be in a fridge since we wouldn't have a fridge. Indians and early settlers didn't have a fridge or oven.
I have thought of asking you if I could post some of these recipes when you put on a prepper thread. If that is okay with you, I will do it but right now I'm in Ohio in a hotel with my travel computer and the recipes are not on this little computer. I should be home by Sept. 12 and could start posting those around that time.
Let me know if I can do that.
As to your posting prepper threads, normalcy bias causes some people to deny anything could happen and prepper posts make them uncomfortable so some complain. Ignore those coplaints as you help many people and those are the ones you reach with the threads.
Post AWAY! You always have good stuff Marcella!
Hi Marcella, yes please post your prepping recipes. Many moons ago we used to go camping. I’d take bisquick and figure a skillet sized batch - maybe 8 or 9 biscuits. I’d add powdered milk to the bisquick so all I needed to add was water out on the trail. We had an old big skillet with a lid with a steam vent. On low heat with the lid on you can make some pretty good biscuits.
