An old time vacuum style coffee maker! We used to have one that used a metal container on top instead of glass. Made pretty good coffee.

Mom had an accident though, let it get to boiling too hard and walked by it. Don’t know if she accidentally brushed against it or whether the rocking action caused it to tip over.

She instinctively reached out to catch it. Could have been a really bad burn. Back then we could get a burn medicine called butesin picrate - She grabbed a container of that and spread it all over her arms and hands and didn’t even get a blister. I don’t know why they quit making/selling that stuff. It kinda made your arm yellow, but it worked great.
