FULL TITLE: Man proposes to his boyfriend in Texas Methodist Church that prohibits gay marriage - and gets a standing ovation from the congregation
A Texas man gave his boyfriend a proposal to remember when he got down on one knee in front of the entire congregation at their local Methodist Church – receiving a standing ovation in the process.
Trevor Harper, 36, and Davis Covin, 30, who live in Austin, have been dating since 2006 and have been proud and active members of the First United Methodist Church of Austin for the past two years.
Mr Harper said the support they have received has been a huge blessing to their relationship, especially as a gay couple in Texas. 'That church has been, for us, really the first time we have really been able to live out loud as a couple,' he told BuzzFeed News.

It's fast becoming difficult finding a Christian church that relys on Christ and the Scriptures.....
I've traveled often and there was a time when I could pretty much go into any church and hear a message from the scriptures. That is defiantly not the case today.
Jesus told us the time would come when people would not put up with sound doctrine, rather acquire teaches who would tell them what they want to hear.....
The great apostasy is fast underway today....and has been for several years now.
All you need to know is that it’s Austin which is liberal, liberal, liberal.

I would have hated to see this in the church where I grew up. Ugly would not begin to describe it.
Looks like the local Klan is looking on with approval - except the one woman hiding her eyes.
Another view shows the woman as clapping it’s just this view makes it look like she’s covering her eyes.
Speaking of freak show, years ago, a friend dragged me to Hyde Park Union Church in Chicago. I had never witnessed such a bizarre event in my life. There was never a mention of God or Christ. There were no Bibles and the Book was never mentioned. None of the hymns mentioned God. Heaven and hell were never mentioned. It was this bizarre love in and feel good about yourself but don’t worry about sin or eternal damnation.
I’m certain they embrace this crap.
