The Reason You Haven’t Heard More About The 177 Bikers Arrested In Waco
Above the Law ^ | August 17, 2015 | Tamara Tabo

Whatever happened to all those Waco bikers? You know, the 177 people arrested at the Twin Peaks restaurant in Waco, Texas after a motorcycle rally on May 17 ended with nine people shot dead?

Immediately following the shooting, I wrote about just how badly Waco authorities screwed up the arrests. Rather than trifle with technicalities like the rules for bail under the Texas Code of Criminal Procedure, Justice of the Peace Pete Peterson set bail at a staggering $1 million for each of the arrestees in order to “send a message.” Then I described how prosecuting nearly 200 bikers was crushing the criminal justice system in McLennan County and costing taxpayers a fortune.

Why did the story fade from public attention? What’s come out since the story broke?

As it turns out, it’s no accident that you haven’t heard more about the Waco biker debacle.

First, let’s look at two developments that seem like they would be informative, but actually aren’t.

“This case stinks to high heaven and I’d bet a week’s pay that if you sifted through all the medical evidence you would find out most all of those bikers died from .223 rounds not from handgun ammo. Now who that day was using rifles chambered in .223?”

Six of the identified bullets were medium/large in caliber. That is at least a .38.

I’ll tell you this much:

I’ve never heard in the press of a case of bikers bashing in my door in the middle of the night drawing down on parents and their children.

Now, there are armed gangs that do that, but they are financed by taxpayers.

Did I not just read about two SF area cops who made their money on the side as paid assassins?

The last time I heard about bikers losing control and killing someone in public was at a Rolling Stones concert back in the late sixties.

There are loads of motorcycle gangs and motorcycle clubs in the Bay Area. The gangs have friendly places they patronize, wreck, and for the most part restore, and the owners are good with that (in some cases - in many cases - the clubs/gangs are the ones who own them).

I’ve seen them roll into bars and restaurants in out of the way spots all over the place, and the owners are happy to have them - because they tip like nobody’s business are generally extremely polite.

It was such a lovely morning that BATF, McLennan Sheriff’s Dept., West PD, DPS, etc. were likely doing nothing more than relaxing on the Don Carlos’ roof munching down on chimichangas and tequila jello shots.

How much did they tip at Twin Peaks that Sunday?

Interesting that police had to be called out Twin Peaks to calm these ‘extremely polite’ gangsters at least two times in before the Waco gang war ...

I used to have to travel down back roads near Waco by myself at all hours of the day and night so had no option but to stop for gas, food and potty breaks at what you’d call unsavory joints. Not once was this skirt wearing female accosted by a biker or was caught in the middle of a biker shootout. Dealing with the aftermath of crimes and murder scenes never involved a biker gang though a few of the monsters did wear three piece suit vests. But you stay safe in your ivory tower as you look down on us underlings.

Brent Stroman said that HIS men were in their cars. And you have been told that over and over.

Stroman statement that has been scrubbed from Waco PD facebook

Just because someone rides a motorcycle it doesn’t mean they are a criminal.

Any more than wearing a police uniform means they are a jack booted thug.

Why didn’t the coroner’s report list the actual caliber of the bullets recovered?

Medium isn’t a caliber...

"Why didn’t the coroner’s report list the actual caliber of the bullets recovered?"

That isn't the ME's job. He takes a rough measure to document then turns it over to forensics as the bullets are always slightly deformed and if he were to list .38 for a .40 it would not be good for the prosecutor.

"Medium isn’t a caliber..."

In the ME world, MEDIUM refers to .38 and similar. It is an official term.

It excludes .223

“Perhaps if you would clarify what you think I’m wrong about.”

Ok. Here is your post:

‘There are numerous posts where the term ‘bikers’ is used and the context is they are criminals.’

I had done a search on this thread for criminal and found only ONE post. ‘Criminal’ was used as an adjective. It SPECIFICALLY clarified that the poster was referring ONLY to the CRIMINAL element of the biker gangs.

The only way you can say he is incorrect is for you to DENY that there is ANY criminal element in the biker gangs.
