I remember that quite clearly as I was living in Huntington Beach during the election - Bob lost by 1,000 and had 8,00 illegal votes thrown out. Then they found 5,000 illegal registrations and stopped the investigation before it got too close.

Yep. And the Republican leaders of the House could have given Bob justice too. But they didn’t.
I could not remember the details but I did remember that he found almost enough illegal votes then, like you said, they closed the investigation and the Republicans went along with it.
Dornan was a conservative bomb thrower and the Republicans wanted him to go away.
