All it took was hearing the opening strains of Christopher Cross profound, Sailing online at SiriusXMs new Yacht Rock channel online before bookmarking it on the computer. It was already locked in on the car radio. The station programming two-week trial began Aug, 21 at 5:00 p.m. ET on SiriusXM Channel 31. The good news is that it is a featured channel all the way through Labor Day weekend. The bad news is that, currently, thats when it ends, too.
If you love the music of Christopher Cross, Toto, Boz Scaggs, Steely Dan, Michael McDonald, Player, and more, this is the only SiriusXM channel youll be playing for the next two weeks...

Dress appropriately and I will have you served cocktails and jumbo shrimp as our yacht plies the waters of someplace in the Caribbean.
Just found it this afternoon... unfortunate that it ends on 9/7/15
Will check it out, although not my favs. Really have been diggin’ “Road Trip Radio” which is now on XM 18. Hope they make it permanent, cuz road trips are.
Been listening for the past hour. Every song a good one so far. Didn’t realize the “Yacht Rock” genre covered so much ground but each of these songs will sound great on a boat.
Road Trip radio was a 2 week trial, they brought it back due to listener demand
Yes, “Road Trip” was another station I spent a lot of time with this summer.
“the opening strains of Christopher Cross profound, Sailing”
Profound?
Profoundly boring perhaps.
The only thing I’ve really listened to on Sat radio is Outlaw Country.
“Sailing” is probably the top pop song of 1980. A massive super hit that stayed at number one for a month and played on the radio for months. That song brings back fond memories of the RNC convention that year. Ronald Reagan and better days ahead. In fact, the 1980s were the best decade of my life and when that song came out, those days were just beginning.
SiriusXM took off C-SPAN Radio with the latest channel shuffle. I used to record it every Sunday afternoon when C-SPAN replayed all of the Sunday News Programs commercial-free.
So instead I get to listen to yet another iteration of the same light rock songs? SiriusXM is getting dangerously close to losing a ten year subscriber.
Nonetheless, it is a horrid song.
He also did the torturous Arthur’s Theme as I recall.
Emblems of the bad taste 70’s
Let me ask you, what is the top pop song of 2015?
That's also the year MTV debuted and the non-telegenic Christopher Cross faded away.
For me, the top pop song of 2015 was "Lame Claim to Fame" by Weird Al Yankovich. Now Weird Al was made for MTV and now he's king of YouTube.
“Christopher Cross, Toto, Boz Scaggs, Steely Dan, Michael McDonald, Player”
I’m not a huge fan of the first two, but I’m definitely up for Boz Scaggs and especially Steely Dan pretty much anytime, anywhere. “FM” is one of my all-time favorite tunes.
Of course, Steely Dan never gets old. I have their entire catalog on an iTunes playlist and I just hit Shuffle. Donald Fagen's "Nightfly" is mixed in there also as that's basically a Steely Dan album so far as I'm concerned.

Here’s one of my favorite “yacht” songs.

Think of him as the "el Tropicale" Kenny Rogers
I had FM the soundtrack from the movie. Great tunes.
Another great song of theirs and also a yacht song is "Take It Easy On Me."
With Glenn Shorrock?
