Please tell me if you think Netflix's basic service is worthwhile. If you have it, do you regret it or recommend it? I know they have plenty of movies, but do they stream any current TV shows after they air on cable (say next day, or something like that)?
I’ll tell you why I do not subscribe to Netflix and it has nothing to do with cost or quality or offerings or anything like that. Years ago the CEO of Netflix was one of those Obama toadies who publically declared he thought it just dandy that execs with his kind of salary really should pay more in taxes. I thought at the time that if he wanted to donate HIS money to our greedy little government, then by all means he should do so; but it wasn’t his right to decide that others should also pay more because he thought it a good thing. I don’t know if the same Obama flunky is in charge of Netflix today but I swore at that time he would never get a dime of my money.
I recently bought the Amazon Stick Fire TV and I downloaded Netflix. I like it. Pretty good for movies and has TV shows. With HULU PLUS the tv shows are available a little bit sooner and are easier to find than on Netflix. For me the internet streaming works just fine. So I would say yes I like Netflix.
Prophecies of Ayn Rand on Netflix?
Thanks !
I read this week that in the last quarter something like 600,000 people dropped cable (probably for the Netflix, Hulu, internet streaming tv options).
Bfl. Cable breaking
I don't like they way they produce recommended movies. I watched "Get The Gringo" with Mel Gibson and suddenly got tons of "recommended" movies with messycan titles.
My wife watched one that had a fag in it, and we got tons sodomite cinema recommended.
I have Netflix, well, I’m on my son’s account, and I love it. I also have Amazon Prime and love that too. I watch both a lot.
I got it to watch Longmire. It’s got some faith-based movies, too.
I used to be of that same opinion, but then I realized in this economy you have to pay to play and say the right things in public to keep the fascists off of your back.
Bill Gates and the anti trust suites against MS attest to that completely.
I loathe it, but it is the way it is.....for now.
Golly gee, you and Brian Williams should get together and watch your daughters do their "thing" in front of a camera.
My bad....it is Ayn Rand & the Prophecy of Atlas Shrugged....sorry, but enjoy!!
The service is great. Stock price is overvalued though.
You might check Amazon streaming also. They have a better selection of old B&W stuff.
For me yes. I rarely watch a whole movie in one sitting, it takes too large a block of my time, I like to savor and digest a show/movie in smaller bites, being able to pause and resume later facilitates that.
I would also recommend installing Hola.
It allows you to access Netflix content from other nations, via a proxy server, that is unavailable in your own country.
Farscape?
Have to buy the last 3 episodes.
I’ve had the Netflix DVD service by mail for several years. No problems, quick service, very few disks returned because they were unplayable.
Thumbs up, number one! Excellent service.
“I read this week that in the last quarter something like 600,000 people dropped cable”
Well, we were in that 600,000. Just couldn’t rationalize spending all that money when we were only interested in a handful of channels!
“I got it to watch Longmire.”
That’s exactly why I am thinking about it!
Brian andI double dating? hmmmmm. Btw, my oldest daughter is the Dean of Admissions at a Catholic high school. My youngest daughter is a Dean of Composition at a college in New Hampshire.
and my name is Brian, btw.
