In the September issue of Womens Health, Morissette gave readers a tour of her special 90s-angst-free room, which she calls her talk pit.
Its kind of where I go to tune in to emotions, get divine messages through prayer. I do my gratitude lists in there, she said. I carve out different goals, I journal, I read, I listen to meditation I do all my practices in there.
The singer, who meditates almost every morning, admitted shes trying to address her self-diagnosed work addiction.

If Im going through a particularly troubled time, Ill use grapefruit. If Im mired in depression, lavender is kind of the panacea for everything, she said. Ive been obsessed with lime lately, and Ill put lime in hot, hot water and on a face cloth and put it on my face and just sit there and breathe. Ill make a lot of blends that Ill just pop in my purse.

You are a true heroine.
WHen they’re finally out of the nest, they’ll come back because they got it so good at home yeah? What will you do then?
Only a few programs can make me howl with laughter . . . Archer is one of them.
Excellent
I’m hoping to move to the Old Folks’ Home where my mother lives. Maybe she can even leave me her condo!
Seriously, we thought that having nine children at home would encourage them to move out. Everyone shares a room; some share with four others! However, it’s still too comfortable. Those who are old enough (except the oldest, who joined the military at 18) don’t want to leave.
Too easy ... bed rent-free, meals, car, internet, Netflix, washer/dryer ... they bitch, but they don’t leave. I’ve begged my husband for an internet kill switch, but he insists it’s impossible. I think I need to talk to a different engineer.
I read women’s fashion magazines. There was a featured story on her on how to date. She’s rule’s girl! She had made mistakes and she corrected them by acting like a reserved lady. She then revealed she prayed to God to send her a good man to be her husband. And at the end of the piece she wished singled women God’s speed in their search. She is happily married and grateful for her husband.
Isn’t that ironic?
Does she levitate?
Ironic, I suppose, that her biggest hit single was about being in an angry, jealous rage, feeling abused, humiliated and vengeful. And when she found peace and was centered, the quality of her music evaporated.
Better for her personally, I suppose.
Is she the singer who started the craze, which is still going on, of the thin, reedy, female voice, always sounding pathetically sad.
That was Marianne Faithful
Also sounding slightly choked, like a bone’s caught in their throat? I think Chan Marshall aka Cat Power introduced that style. I like her but the copycats are infuriating!
Perhaps the Stones will send her a Little Yellow Pill or three...
Man, did she get fat and old in a hurry.
I hate when that happens.
Not lately. Now she’s got the gravel-gargling, whiskey and ten thousand cigarettes voice.
