The greatest cat I ever owned passed on today just a few weeks shy of her 19th birthday. She was the oldest kitty I ever had but I'm afraid that's gonna make it harder to adjust to a world without her.
I could tell endless stories about her (as she could about me!).
Just wanted to post this to the Freeper community 'cause I get so much comfort here talking with like minded souls and could sure use an extra dose today.
Thank you so much :(
Sounds like your furry little companion lived every day knowing she was loved and cherished and you had that feeling about her too. I’m sure she will be with you forever.
Aww, that’s so sweet. I’m sorry for your loss. I know pets are family. I love both cats and dogs.
Any pictures?
My sympathies. How we love our pets, it is a pity we live longer than they do. But it is the circle of life, and your pet had a great life, I am sure of it.
Prayers for you. I know how hard it is to say goodbye to a much loved pet.
you need a prince!! LOL
I now have 3; Nestle, Kevin and Owen
Sorry..never got that skill down.
Just try to imagine a Himalayan - silver tabby mix, short haired with ice blue eyes.
I hope and pray I end up where I know she is now.
My condolences.
I had a cat once that I absolutely loved. He disappeared after about 8 months or so.
So sorry I have a 16 year old female, Sadie. Best cat I have ever had. Take comfort that you gave her such a good life.
Seems like the longer you have them, the more it hurts when they’re gone. But 19 years was a good long run for her,and I’m sure you made her life wonderful.
She lived a long and good life, and she thanks you.
I know the pain of loss is great, but I’ll tell you what makes it fade.
Start looking for a new furry friend who needs a home.
It doesn’t matter where you look, because any animal without a home is an animal that needs a home, but I will tell you that rescuing an animal in need of rescue will make you feel like you did a good thing, and that helps a lot.
When one of our friends goes home, that is our opportunity to bring a new friend in.
There are many who need a person like yourself.
Losing a close member of the family is always hard. She will live forever in your heart. She will always be there.
a total fussy britches when it comes to food, but loves to lounge around outside, keeps the chipmunks and birds on their toes, and comes to lay on my chest every night when I go to bed.
I will miss her when it's her time. Be well
Sorry for your loss, Catmom. Tabitha shall live on through our old-timer, Wallter. We found him as a two week old in the wall of our house and thus the spelling. Wallter is 19 years old and a few weeks, ran off once for a week, then returned to where he knew he would be spoiled rotten. Plain-jane, yellow cat. We’re amazed at his vigor and thankful he didn’t ask for a drivers license and a car when he turned 18!
Hugs to you. It hurts a heart to lose a pet. I too have gone through this experience. I cried like a child. I love the poem...The Rainbow Bridge. Yes, I do believe we see our beloved pets again at some future time. They are God’s lesser ideas, but still kept under the shadow of His wing.
Bless her kitty soul for being such a boon companion. She’ll be waiting for you on the other side of the Rainbow Bridge.
You have many kindred spirits here. We lost cats due to disease or old age and our hearts ached every time. The only easement is time then the fond memories take over.
This sounds cold, but when we have a pet that dies, as soon as possible we adopt another to honor the one lost. There are so many sitting in cages in need of homes.
It not only honors the deceased animal, it helps us heal.
Best wishes!
