Sorry, I can’t give you any examples of what hasn’t happened yet

You predicted that “they will face much worse” so I thought you might have some idea as to what’s in store in terms how they could be tougher, more aggressive, or “much worse” than MK was. At least that’s what you implied and I was just curious to know how much more viscous you think those attacks may be.

This was not a debate but a very public vetting

I respectfully disagree. There is a huge difference between vetting someone and deliberately trashing them. An honest and constructive vetting process does not have personal destruction as its sole objective. The Team Kelly spectacle was a one-sided firing squad.

Trump has never campaigned before and has much to learn about gotcha, sound bite journalism. If he can’t figure it out he should just walk away and let the others get on with it.

That is a big part of Trump’s appeal. He is an outsider who is not an “old hand” at the ways of Washington politics, dissembling, evasive parsing, and word games. People are hungering for some straight talk. Would you prefer he be a political “gamer” like many others in Washington?

I have my doubts about Trump's political longevity in our toxic political environment. But he is performing a valuable service to the country by highlighting the failures of Washington politics and business as usual.

It's not that she was asking hard questions, it was the time and place that she was doing it that's the problem. Editorializing a la Candy Crowley as a debate moderator is not appropriate. If she wants to rip on somebody and ask them hard questions, get them on her show for an interview like everybody else.

If somebody walked up to you at work during a business meeting and started asking you pointed questions about your dealings with ex-girlfriends, telling you that you're screwing up in your job, and calling you names like "misogynist", that's OK, right? Of course not, there's an appropriate time and place for such things. Your lack of awareness of that is very telling.

I agree that he is doing very well at airing the issues that most conservatives are concerned about, but this is a political campaign and not a speech given to a like minded audience. Think back to Chris Matthews vs Carly Fiorina. He asked some really pointed and stupid questions but she fielded them and calmly put him in his place. She came away looking great and he just sat there slobbering. Remember what Candy Crowly did to Mitt Romney, he didn’t handle it well when she took sides in the debate and it made him look weak. Go back and look at almost any time George Stephenopolus ever interviewed a Repuplican. Some handled it well and some just collapsed.

Trump seems to always have a chip on his shoulder. He doesn’t take criticism well and needs to learn to not let it get him visibly agitated. He also needs to learn that there will be a lot of loaded, gotcha questions that he will need to answer in a way that he doesn’t give his critics, or his opponents, new talking points.

He needs a coach that will play devil’s advocate and really drill him, ask every unfair question they can think of, before he gets on stage. He needs to learn to look and act presidential or he is not going to make it. Without regard to what he meant by his comment about Megan Kelly, he has to learn that different people interpret things differently and he needs to think before speaking.

Yesterday we had our monthly county GOP gathering and I will tell you for sure that he lost considerable suport, not just for what he said but due to his dismissive, arrogant attitude.

It’s all about marketing. If you can’t sell it you might as well not have it.

I am not a Trump fan. That being said, I’ll make a couple of points.

I enjoy the current show he is putting on. I couldn’t tweak the PC crowd the way he is doing and it is pleasurable watching the media’s collective heads explode.

Megyn looked like the definitive liberal talking head during the debates and that s-— eating smile she had on her face as she delivered the assumed campaign ending question sicked me. And the look of devastation she had on her face when she realized she had not broken Trump made me smile.

This absurd photo is photoshopped, I presume? I cannot imagine any professional woman posing like this.

The text has been added but the photo is one of the milder ones published in GQ magazine. Use search term “GQ Megyn Kelly” to verify for yourself.

Trump has never campaigned before and still has much to learn about gotcha, sound bite journalism...

Thank you!
Trump needs to learn The Art of the Pivot.
Here’s what Trump should have said: “War on Women, Megyn? What war on women? Has being a woman stopped you from being in that chair? In America today,we have a woman in a pantsuit who let an ambassador die and then covered it up, who’s enriched herself in office, stolen public money, accepted bribes, on and on— wants to be President of the United States and Commander in Chief of the armed forces. The problem is, this particular woman is being coddled and protected by mainstream media hacks like yourself BECAUSE she is a woman and a democrat. If Hillary Clinton were a man, or a Republican, she would have been indicted before now. Why hasn’t she ? There’s no war on women. But there’s a war on children taking place all over this country, children being butchered and sold like cuts of meat, and hacks like yourself refuse to even cover it. A generation of American children has been murdered and we’re throwing the borders open to an invasion of people who hate America ...” Etc etc, you get the picture.
Instead, we’re spending a week discussing menstruation and Megyn’s NOSE and her killer B’s and Trump’s ego.
Trump’s ego and anger are good if channeled correctly ON BEHALF OF we the people and AGAINST the Dems and RINOs ANTI-AMERICAN policies and practices. The Kate Steinle / immigration stuff was spot on.
Trump needs to not walk into stupid traps. Jeez, the Dems pulled this 4 years ago with Mitt and the “binders full of women” BS.
The war on women should be an old, tired meme by now, and ANY candidate on the right should have developed talking points on this —and every other issue—long ago. Not just the WOW and phony “reproductive health” but ALL the democrat stances are old, worn out, and proven failures. The democRats got NOTHING to offer except decadence and destruction of a once-great nation and we are way worse off than we were 8 years ago. Trump and all our candidates need to STAY ON POINT AND SAY THAT, OVER AND OVER.
If Trump doesn’t learn the Art of the Pivot, he’ll keep walking into these traps. The whole thing ends up being a smack down between Trump’s personality and some media bimbo’s personality, i.e. a media circus. Derailment is exactly what the other side wants.
Sure, Trump’s numbers are up for now, and he gets the ratings. He has tapped into American anger to some extent. But I wonder if a portion of his fandom are people tuning in just to see what outrageous thing he’s gonna say next. Or like folks who go to the racetrack, secretly hoping to see a crash? I truly don’t want Trump—or most of the candidates—to crash and burn. There’s too much at stake here. He’s (they’ve) gotta hunker down and master the sound bite and the gotchas.
And all of them MUST aim their ammo at the ‘Rats and stop the circular firing squad.

Trump grew up and older in a toxic business environment. The corporate real estate business is as cutthroat as any government agency boardroom. Mr. Art of the Deal can handle himself. I am loving the ass kicking he is dishing out to all the preening poodles. They have it coming. Little Megyn is out of her league and if she thinks Murdoch won’t sacrifice her to Baal/Molech she has one rude awakening coming. The big boys own the chessboard and the pieces and will sacrifice a piece here and there to gain territory.

I didn’t get to see much of the “debate”, but what I saw was not questions about policy and ideology, things you WANT to know from the candidates, but pointed “gotcha” questions the candidates might have said, or people said about them. What a waste of time! When do we get a policy debate? When do we get to see how the candidates feel about the Constitution, the road the country is presently on, or such issues? If these are all going to be pitting what one guy says about another, or something to that effect, we might as well ask them to stop them now. I don’t give a rip about the nonsense some of them speak about each other, but I do care where they will take the country, what laws they intend to enact or get overturned.

This pettiness has to stop. Let’s have some REAL questions, for God’s sake! Like Trump and Cruz have stated, we don’t have time to play games...the country is falling apart and there is too much work to be done to pit the candidates against each other in such a petty way.

I was sick of all the questions I saw before I had to go to bed. They were foolish and unnecessarily petty. Good grief! Were there any adults to preview these questions?

The corporate real estate business is as cutthroat as any government agency boardroom.

Government agencies don't have boardrooms, except for a few government chartered corporations which are unique entities. Agencies have layers upon layers of "management" to diffuse the problem of accountability. They are a nightmare to deal with, which is just the way they like it.

If Trump should become president even he will find the agencies extremely difficult and intransigent. The reasons are manifold but trust me, they are much more difficult to control than any business -- by an order of magnitude.

Loved your chessboard analogy and agree with you on that point. But however easy it is sacrifice a piece in the private sector, its tougher to do in the gubermint where there are political ramifications and consequences to every move. The government environment is a swamp with quicksand everywhere.

As I said previously, I have my doubts about Trump’s longevity. Your points about his demeanor are valid. He has a bombastic personality that comes across as confrontational rather than thoughtful.

And I think we both agree that he needs to adopt a more presidential style and tone. It would serve him well. I would like to hear him articulate some specific priorities and plans to restore this country’ greatness. You can only go so far with political barbs, even in our ‘low information voter’ environment.

Right now Trump is tapping into a lot of frustration and anger with the GOP. Many who have voted GOP feel betrayed. That is just a fact. We have focused our discussion mainly on Trump, but perhaps the more important issue is the near complete loss of the GOP’s credibility. The GOP needs to take Trump’s criticisms to heart and openly acknowledge the validity of many of his points which are resonating with the disillusioned base. The GOP needs to “man up” and accept the fact that it has failed to produce promised results and show what it is doing to be more responsive. Not talk, but actual actions. We’re tired of being deceived.

As they say, the first step toward solving a problem is acknowledging that you have one. Will the GOP take this simple step forward?

Not really a long term insider. Just witnessed a lot of weird organizational dynamics while I was enduring some pain along the way. Some parts of the government are a nightmare, other parts not so bad. Generally speaking, the bigger the agency the worse it is. lol

Most government employees are liberals so its not a good environment for a conservative to work in. Liberals love the job security, benefits and being around like-minded people.

I much prefer private work needless to say.
