Tom made comments to that effect after we listened to a couple of deeply batty people calling in to the Andrew Wilkow show.

Sorry...cat and dog were too mundane in the home I grew up. We used big, different words as a matter of course because that’s how my parents spoke to each other.

I was ridiculed in school because no one understood what I was saying until I got into Jr. High and found that there were LOTS of definitions in the thesaurus that could be substituted. It’s a wonder I ever had any dates at all...

My math skills are really bad...worse since CFIDS. And I was just getting comfortable with the calculator...

I have to teach math, so I keep up my basic skills. Bill said he’s forgotten how to do the one basic calculus function a business major needs!

Tom is extremely lucky to have been born into a family that loves education. I’m not sure I would have fared any better if I had come to Earth in Tom’s era or my own, but I know that CFIDS would still be my nemesis. It probably would have hit at the same time in life, but that would have been WAY in my future.

Still, I’m grateful for my parents who believed in education, though my mother only went to the 9th grade, and my dad may or may not have graduated from high school. I will have to try to find out if the records go back that far. He has no birth certificate, so we only have other records to verify it. Same with my mother.

My mother had only a high school education. She took a lot of professional training over the years ... real estate, income tax, investment planning ... but never got a degree.

Dad was valedictorian of his high school class ... of 7 students, in a tiny rural school. He got all his real education after he joined the Navy.

Anybody with half a brain should be anti-gun; 'cause every time I meet them, I want to use one on them.

My mother never had the opportunities to increase her knowledge in a structured environment, but she READ, and she learned, and she taught us how to do the same.

And truth be known, I still miss her...

How different the work might have been if Nixon had chosen to wear make up?

Castle Ashby is about an hour and a half , on a good day.
The write-up is almost worth posting on here for humour purposes.

£115 ,worth every penny ,to pay for its disposal.
She could always take it to Bovington, the Challenger crews could dispose of it in a suitable top gear manner.

Perhaps a mobile Hen house? Interested,,,,,? :)
