Catholic and other private schools started school today, and the NHP is patrolling the school crosswalks to make sure no one is speeding through. Local cops will patrol the crosswalks next week when CCSD schools open.

It means the driveway closest to the school to our west will be crawling with Henderson PD SUVs! Do. Not. Speed.

I just go around them. There is a crossing light about 50’ to the left, but I just go right to get where I need to go. It’s shorter, anyway, including to the freeway.

Get on it, Teacher Mom! I’m sure you will find something to occupy their time with. A couple of my nieces homeschool, and even two of their daughters are doing it.

Of course, when I went to school, it wasn’t needed, as the schools actually TAUGHT kids things they should know.

And we always opened the day with the Pledge of Allegiance and a prayer. Good school days!

I just heated a burrito, and in reading the package, I found that the $1 burritos with better meat (shredded) and cheese have fewer calories than the 3 for a $1 ones that are about half the size!

I should have read the labels sooner... :o|

I just ran (drove) down the street to get a beer, and when I opened the cooler door, this really short, really old person said, “Me too!” I got my beer and held the door open for her and then it hit me: I said, “I’m not paying for it.”

As I started the car, she came out of the store...with no beer...sorry, but this low on funds, it’s all I can do to support my own habit, not help a stranger support theirs........ So stone me in the square.
